I’m curious what’s the best rn.
Last time I touched Dueler’s Guild literally everyone there was rogues and disc. Dunno how much disc has been nerfed, but rogues are still extremely good because they can chicken out and regen a bit if things go south.
A lot of specs are good for dueling and most will do fine (minus a few)
For the absolute best:
Unholy DK
Ret Paladin
Ele Sham
Mage
Sin/Sub Rogue
Destro/Demo Lock
Survival Hunter
Anything not listed in here is probably strong, but these just seem to have a step above the rest.
Disc priest is not very good, used to be early BFA but since it’s been fairly negligible.

Disc is busted in 1v1’s. Without dampening, it’s nearly impossible to kill and the damage is insane, especially now with the addition of essences.
Warlock is imo, I don’t normally lose to 1v1 unless it’s an UNHOLY on steroids, even then if you cheese good enough you’ll probably kill em.
You forgot WW monk or really think they aren’t that good in 1v1 situations?
In my opinion WW’s are probably the best spec to 1v1 in Arenas, because of pillars.
But in open world i’ve seen many casters like Elemental shaman and Destruction warlock being a hard counter to WW’s.

I love my WW can beat anyone though they are at a disadvantage in the world in some cases.
WW has a lot of aoe damage tied into their regular damage, such as using procs with SCK and using the clones with WDP.
So with no pillar and sometimes aggroing stuff it can be pretty hectic against classes like hunters who an FD and can continue to do damage.
But with LOS and your portal and being able to do amazing damage can be quite fun especially since you have control, and the ability to avoid damage for a while…

Wow, I actually forgot them. They’re definitely in that list somewhere.
Though even with LoS I think a handful of these classes give them a really good fight (survival hunter/uhdk/ret imo) but they’re still stomp out most specs 1v1.
Imo the best one is turning off warmode because the current pvp system and balance sucks

The game will never achieve good balance. Right now things are doable, people just don’t want to invest the energy to make it work.

I can 1v1 most classes as ret, though feral druids can give me a bit of trouble just because they can match my survivability.

It’s a lot of hit and running. I figure Mages would be your hardest match up since they essentially completely counter Paladin tool kits.
I like my fury warrior, I’d say pally and monk though are prob top tier for 1v1 dueling
With the PS nerf … Ele falls right out of the list .
Unholy and Ret are the 2 best with damage and healing

Was it that strong for Ele? Healing Surge heals for a good bit still yeah?
Also Lasso is extremely strong still, only takes 2-3 to put a hurtin on people.
It was awesome … you could kite in GW like a god. Ya Lasso is great but we lost a major defense. They were trying to nerf Resto and we got caught in the crossfire
