New to death knights. What is the best leveling spec for someone who doesn’t want to tank? Also, which is best for pvp?
Try them both leveling is too easy to care right now.
Can’t speak for leveling, but unholy is best in PVP.
Yeah, I just leveled a warlock from 1 to 50 and was AMAZED at how fast I leveled.
Frost is neat but unholy just shreds.
I switch to blood for when it’s needed but majority of the time Ill pull 6-8 mobs and UH and just run my combo and from there spam empowered death strikes on kill and live through.
Unholy is a lot of fun too

Agreed. I am a long time Blood only player but Unholyb has become murder spec.
In the past I’ve played mostly blood for everything because it’s nearly impossible to die. But occasionally I need something to die fast. I prefer the bursty style of frost for those moments. But as long as you’re using runes to generate runic power, and then use death strike, you should be fine. There’s more to it than that, but that’s enough to start with.
Unholy just feels the best imo

I’ve always played frost switching to blood when it was needed.
it literally doesn’t matter while leveling. that being said, unholy does twice the damage as frost in equivalent gear at max level, so you might as well learn unholy on your way up.

Sadly, Frost is a bit gimped until lvl 58 when Oblit changes to frost damage(not sure if that only applies to 2h frost though?).
Unholy will have the easier time leveling, just due to faster kills. If you wanna spam dungeons then go Blood.
Level as Unholy, OP. You can’t go wrong.
With 4 death knights and i found blood to be the easiest way to lvl. You can Que For groups faster if dungeons are your thing.
And for open world content you have very little down time and can solo large groups of mobs compared to the other two specs without fear of dying ( within reason ).
Once your lvl cap and got some good gear then Frost DK’s have the easier rotation over Unholy.
Unholy feels better out in the world, because your damage is just there and not tied to Breath.
Plus you can use diseases to tag things and epidemic to kill stuff kind of at range while rounding stuff up
Tried all 3 specs since patch. I would suggest blood, but if not looking for tank spec, gotta go unholy. Just seems like unholy is bloated with abilities right now, but still a smoother leveling experience.
