Today I want see people’s thoughts and feels on what classes won the class design lotto and which classes lost
Personally I decided to give my monk a whirl have discovered that after the fiasco that was BFA they seem to be in a really nice spot
Damage distribution feels nice, AoE and ST feels good, decent talent options, nice legendaries, their conduits seem amazing and questioning which ones I’d want to take in what situations, decent utility and not an insane amount of APM whilst still maintaining and engaging rotation
Doesn’t feel like it is a gimmick spec at all
Fully viable in all situations
I’ve also found shadow priests to be very nice as well, nice solid rotation that isn’t relying on a gimmick, interesting talent options and is one of the casters who isn’t just a proc fishing class and the procs are nice because they are bonus and not something you depend on
Viable in all content
Shout out to survival hunters as well, they feel fairly decent for the time being i just worry about how they will scale and wouldn’t mind a slight tune up on the single target dps side of things. Very fun class
My biggest disappointment so far has been outlaw rogues
Still a slave to RNG, AR is still a weak cooldown, poor legendary choice, horrible conduits and a bloated rotation
Non viable in PvP but still decent in PvE but I find their rotation frustrating
All of this is just opinion obviously
I’m really liking my Druid more.
Natural advantage in the Maw until everyone gets those mounts. Strong nuke, less RNG for eclipses. Players get to decide on if they want sustain (Kyrian) or burst (Night Fae). Good in raid, good in M+, good burst in PvP.
Monk isn’t changed as a class but comes out well because the small bursts every 1-2 have become more impactful without major gameplay change.
I am liking my Frost DK more even though it’s in a bad spot. It is nice to have a viable 2H ST Obliterate playstyle with the legendary even though we fall behind in MT still (why nerf obliterate so hard ;( ). Furthermore the mobility from Night Fae plus the grips we have already feels good
.
I think shadow priest is for sure the winner here.
Unrelated note I am sad to see that your name change finally shows here. You’ll always be og nippysmilk to me boo.
Sub rogue feels 10x better than in BFA
I think they extremely small changes they did for monks have made me really enjoy them
It’s pretty much carried off the back of I can use expel harm to get that 1 chi I need for FoF and a small heal and thunder cat being base line as well as dance being a talent so it still exists as well as kyrian giving us mini serenity + a decent dump hp potion
And the addition of our stone brew to combo into ToD is phat

Shadow priest, but they still suffer from the turret play style, which has always been the real problem with the class. They are better though, and don’t feel quite as clunky. Disc priest also feels pretty sturdy.
Druid is always fun, even if they screw it up. Resto is not bad right now, even though they are paper bags in PvP due to the idiotic amount of burst. Guardian is pretty good as well as boomie. The only really lukewarm spec is feral, which would be straight up trash without the OP convoke.
The nature of this post is very subjective but I’d have to say that I enjoy Shadow Priest and Enhancement Shaman with their reworks. Too fun now.
I also enjoy the new Affliction Warlock.
These are the 3 most changed specs in Shadowlands by far but to me they also happen to be the best designed since they got so much attention. All in their own right.
These 3 specs play so satisfying now. They’re all worth a try.
