Hi all, I’m just wondering what spec for DH’s would be a good starting place to learn how the class works. I know nothing about them, and what they do.
The two specs are fundamentally different.
Do you enjoy tanking ? do Vengence (like me)
Do you enjoy DPS ? do Havoc (not like me).
The two roles have similar spells and abilities but playstyle wise they are very very different.
Havok and Vengeance are both very simple. It boils down to weather you prefer playing DPS or Tank.
Probably should start vengeance because in the past havoc was really squishy until you get a lot of gear.
Right now, vengeance. Havoc still needs fixing after the post-BFA meganerf. Havoc is super squishy at higher levels, and vengeance does quite well across the board right now.

Havoc is trash. Vengeance is OP.
But havoc is more fun
If you want to survive, Vengeance. If you want to have fun but be quite squishy, Havoc.
From a solo world perspective, does Vengeance hit like a wet noodle? I do like the ability to survive, especially in SL.
Vengeance can do a lot of damage for a tank spec, especially if you’re willing (and able) to gather a crapton of mobs and nuke them all down.
That’s what I do. Round up everything, pop my defenses, and tear them up.
