Best covie for Mistweaver using ancient teaching of the monastery leggy?

The monk theorycrafting community is run by a handful of tenured elitists who think they know everything but don’t try anything and shun anybody who tries to recommend something other than what they think is best, but won’t even try what that other person is saying.

So arrogant lol, meanwhile your logs suggest either your build is performing bad or you are, but yea the community is the issue because the monks there don’t wnna try a suboptimal build.

I don’t know what you are looking at, but I think you are more into raiding and he is more into m dungeons. he has over 40 15+ timed dungeons. You have 15. I’ll give you the WL rankings, but he has only run 2 of a lot of the heroic runs–so he may not care to run them like you do or not have a team to push mythic raiding. I am sure you understand that practice makes you anticipate certain situations and more immediately mitigate and increase parse.

Both his s1 and s2 performance averages on m+ are higher than your 2 averaged. Something is working for him, my guy.

I am not trying to stir things up, but you aren’t 2600+ and you aren’t in a place to be high and mighty. He’s playing in a way that is working. His cap on 20+ might have to do with limitations with the team he plays on than his sheer output. It takes more than just a good healer to get through high keys. it’s a team effort. This isn’t productive and ultimately makes the community a bit toxic.

What makes the community toxic? One guy saying the theorycrafters who have been working on MW stuff for years are elitist and lazy for not trying his build(which they most likely have) also season 2 I haven’t done keys but in season 1 you can clearly see my io and the ranking before I stopped. I’m also not going around slandering every person who disagrees with my “build” if you wnna listen to him that’s on you, I’ve pushed CE content as MW for 7 years and have ranked top 10 US as MW the last 2 tiers, partially due to the work peak does and continues to do, so when psychi goes flapping his gums and calling everyone who does work over there elitist, yea not really gonna sit and be quiet.

Hands down the biggest thing preventing me from pushing higher is getting accepted into groups due to community perception that MW is bad — people just flat out don’t want monks.

I used to be a hardcore raider in past expansions, but nowadays it’s a lot harder for me to schedule raid time than it is to log on and pug a key when I have free time. All of my
Keys are just random PUGS. I should probably join a key community to push higher at this point but just haven’t yet.

I really wish people could talk more positively about MW and also encourage new MW to just find success with whatever build, rather than the Meta build (which admittedly is very unforgiving if you don’t play it extremely well).

I feel that If the community was more receptive to MW and also that people trying out MW in the lower keys find more success with any build and not just “meta”, that it would be easier for people in my spot trying to push into higher keys to find groups as well.

I can’t agree more. The combination of these two legendries will make us a formidable healer, even more than what we are now.

It has gotten better but, let’s be honest… other classes offer “KEY” utilities that we just do not offer. Everyone can be successful, 15 keys are easy… However, those 20+ keys in random groups are just really hard to get into as a Monk.

Good groups are not going to need as much healing for they do not take the constant damage that random pugs generate. With that said, other healers can focus more on dps rather than healing, thus pushing keys faster.
That is the nature of the beast… I do not see them changing things for M+, because in raids we are the top healers and it just doesn’t seem likely that they are going to try and balance M+ when we are doing as well as we are.

We are complaining about this but I remember playing Disc Priest after WOTLK in Cata and feeling as if someone did us dirty to the point that healing as a Disc Priest wasn’t possible. We complain about mana issues, I remember how casting one shield would practically put us out of mana… My priest died that day… RIP Akaria-Baelgun

Sure but this is true for literally every class and spec in the game. It’s inherent behavior in practically all multiplayer team based games where one’s personal success is made possible as a group effort.

Overwatch, league, Diablo 3, wow. The list goes on. People want their teammates to play what is optimal, and there are solid communities like peak that set out to find what’s optimal. Disparaging and denigrating them as elitist is kinda lame, they really do a lot for the community and aren’t exactly earning a large salary doing so.

Run ATotM if you want, I wouldn’t reject you from a group for that. I would however pick the other MW running venth if you both applied at the same time though (unless I knew you personally, as player skill is otherwise an unknown factor).

It’s called meta for a reason, “most effective tactics available”.

Update to OP:
After some thought and playing around with DPS builds, Kyrian and Forgemaster Mikanikos is very strong for healing and DPS.

Basically just use Weapons of Order as a DPS cooldown to trigger Effusive Anima Accelerator which does a ton of damage. Spam Spinning Crane Kick at the start of pulls to benefit from Hammer of Genesis haste bonus, and then when the pack gets narrowed down, focus hard on your Soulglow Spectrometer target for bonus damage and healing.

This macro is really helpful too:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=3 Blackout Kick, Tiger Palm

It allows you to just spam 1 button to fish for Rising Sun Kick resets, which reduced the input delay from pressing different keybinds with lots of haste

just play venthyr and let fallen order carry you

First of all… Thank you so much for all the help and feedback and dealing with other people… so srsly… THANK YOU…

Also are you srs about going with Mikanikos? Could you link a conduit build for me? Im trying to hit all 15s this season so if i need to do more dps Id love that build.

again… TY TY TY ( im not interested in raiding and only want ATOM atm. )

Yea I think mikanikos is where it’s at.

I’ve been using this build: https://www.wowhead.com/soulbind-calc/kyrian/forgelite-prime-mikanikos/monk/AwCWapYBBSS8ABIFI6wAJSOFACMVIvgAJXYAADUj1QA

And yes it’s only using 2 potency conduits but the majority of potency conduits aren’t all that game changing for ATOTM MW, the only one that truly matters in my mind is the resplendent mist which is super strong lol.

Jade Bond is next strongest because Chiji is really good and you should use it proactively on deadly large pulls. This makes it so you can get a few more chi jis in there.

Rising Sun revival is just a small amount of CDR that it’s basically negligible especially because revival is mostly used as an emergency cooldown (at least for me) so it’s not really ever on cool down to benefit from the reduction.

Strike with clarity is incredibly strong in terms of throughput. If you want that extra mastery boost and duration increase to WOO for healing intensive weeks like fort/grievous go for it.

I think that the Hammer of Genesis trait is much more impactful than taking an additional potency conduit in terms of dps and healing, since you can benefit a lot from that haste on pull and also whenever adds spawn during bosses. The haste helps you do more damage and healing through ATOTM and also your RSK resets are proportional to your cast of blackout kick and your number of casts is directly related to your haste.

Things to do to min/max your DPS:
Use weapons of order as a dps cool down and ideal on 5 targets but don’t hold it too long. Make sure that you hold it so that it will last it’s full duration on all targets that it hits. If something is about to die, wait til it dies before using it.

Also, don’t worry about maximizing the uptime of Renewing Mist if healing requirement is low, only after you get Vial of Sanguine Ichor then you want to maximize your renewing mist uptime. It costs too many globals to try to maximize full uptime and it lowers your DPS if the healing requirement is low until you get the sanguine vial. Then every healing and damage event has a chance to proc the blood explosion so it then becomes better to use those GCDS on renewing mist even if it’s not needed for healing.
