If only there was some way to get ahead of this… some way players could have warned them before hand so they could remove player power from the choice. Oh well, maybe next one.

Yeah… My disappointment is immeasurable and my launch day has been ruined.
In all seriousness, my hope has shifted to them possibly allowing players to pick abilities separate from the covenants in the future… though the recent interviews make it sound like they would rather do anything and everything BUT that. So, you know… not filled with much faith at this point, at least not for 9.1. Maybe 9.2 or 9.3 if lucky.

…nope. I will be there… on my Fury Warrior. Loving my Covenant, it’s story, it’s characters, it’s rewards, my abomination, etc all while hating the ability I will be stuck with for the entire expansion. Mind you my melancholy is not performance based, I just really liked the Venthyr ability and how it modified Execute in a cool way. Was fun to play around with on Beta and I just really enjoyed it. I don’t care about the numbers or performance on the ability, I just wanted to have something fun instead of…

But, looking on the bright side, while I will not get to enjoy my favorite covenant ability I will at least be avoiding the dreadful party event that the Venthyr will be doing. I get to make delightful abominations instead ~ 
Still not looking forward to a whole expansion with the Banner as my new ability. I really do not feel good about the choice, in fact neither choice really felt great. I ended up just picking the least negative feeling one I guess.
Given their responses in the most recent interviews it looks like they are going to do quite literally everything to avoid doing that. Even mentioning developing ways to switch covenants as a whole without losing progress if they have to.
I really do not understand why they are pushing this so hard, it honestly feels like Azerite all over again.
But yeah, my gut tells me that it most certainly is out of the realm of possibility for 9.1. Maybe something for 9.2, but I am not feeling too confident at this point.
At least it creates a good looking/sounding bullet point for when they get around to announcing the next expansion. “We have learned from covenants and heard your feedback!”

I love necrolord story wise and fashion but the ability for veng DH just sucks on so many lvls so might have to go with the Karen’s<------was intended

Oh hey I was going necrolords despite everyone saying Kyrian was the “best” for Holy priest and look Kyrian got nerfed. I’m picking covenants based more off of who do I want to do quests for the next 2 years or so. Also of the priest abilities Necrolords was the easy fire and forget one, no worrying about building stacks or micro-managing fairies.

talk about some meaningful choice… YOU can CHOOSE. Uh if you want higher end content NO you can’t seems this is NEW Version of talent trees 2.0 just a newer polished t*rd of crappy design planning.
This is just not going to work as they think and it’s going to fall horribly on it’s face and everyone will be cramped into only 2 covenants. Play as you want has not worked in this game and the developers need to really sit down and address this.

Due to how broken certain pve trinkets were and the massive buffs/nerfs of the complex systems the pvp community had a difficult time of it. Plus no real meta to speak of on the beta.
Just one more reason to remind me why I despise raiding.

Hi, I’m Syndee I am a frost mage and I will be going necrolord.
For Affliction pvp its Kyrian or Venthyr.
The saddest thing about all this is the list will only be good until Blizzard does a rebalancing pass - when it will be painful to change.
