Best covenant for Death Knights?

Made a second one (please don’t ask why) and having a hard time figuring out which covenant to put them in. First DK is on Necrolord so was debating Night Fae or roll Necrolord again.

For Frost, its NF followed by Necrolord.

Necro is useful for all three. Numerically it’s superior for Unholy for the most part, has higher ST as Blood, has its use in AoE as Frost, and offers a lot of utility that is very necessary.

Night Fae is theoretically the highest damage as Blood and is hard to play on that front with 4pc, and it is definitely Frost’s best option in most cases. It has fringe use cases as Unholy but is not as applicable since Unholy’s AoE is kinda mediocre compared to Frost’s frankly-excellent AoE.

Kyrian is used as Blood for a much easier playstyle but still offers a very high amount of damage. Mikanikos’s tree alone makes this amazing for Blood.

Realistically, you want all of Necro, NF, and Kyrian to be maxed out and you never ever ever want to touch Venthyr anymore.

Im nf on my blood one its ok

Guides all say the covs are rather competitive with each other

I make all my allied race characters plate users, usually DK’s now, for heritage armor then I do the Shadowmourne quest on them to sell the goodies (6 Invincible drops so far for me).

But ya Night Fae or Necrolord. I personally prefer necrolord because I love abomination limb so useful for M+ and PvP. I really hope we get to keep abomination limb in Dragonflight.

Same. Slappy Hands is so much fun. It checks basically every box for a good ability: it’s good damage, has good utility (both grips and procs), looks good, and is easy to use without forcing DKs into an awkward rotation.

Thank you , I believe I will go Night Fae to mix things up a bit. Also been planning to possibly solo “Stay Classy.”

Indeed, also for unholy its shadow damage ;D I love all 3 specs of DK and its just fun.

Night fae, enjoy being a nature-loving tree hugger despite what Dks are.

The more I think about it Frost DK’s are kind of a good fit for what the Night Fae are.

Death is part of the natural cycle of death and decay, Death Knights specialize in the death and decay part. Night Fae are more cycle of life than tree hugging unlike druids.

As longs as its strictly a talent and not baseline then cool. But in that case all cov abilities need to be talents too that way some of us dont lose abilities we like, like my shackle the unworthy.

Necrolord has been the bis all expansion unfortunately.

I don’t mind Kyrian as the dot is interesting in PvP especially as Unholy.

I have several DKs. My main one is a Necrolord because my very own wigglybutt abomination.

For my second one I went with the vampires because they have the best zone.

The others I haven’t decided yet if I am going to put through shadowlands.

i put my characters into covenants they best fit. rogue in venthyr, paladin in kyrian, mage in night fae and DK in maldraxxus stuff like that

Night Fae if you want to irritate people.

I do that more as kyrian. I watch tanks gather up mobs and bron cena comes rushing out knocking them back in random directions. Lol

For all meta related questions just look here:

https://subcreation.net/

It pulls character “loadouts” from all completions/parses above a certain threshold. Aka preferred selection by players wanting to play the game well.

Be sure to change setup per dungeon and boss though, although generic would best serve you to start off.
