Hi. I had reset my UI and so had to redownload addons. I realized I need a coordinate or map addon and was hoping you guys could give me suggestions? I used to use TomTom but it hasn’t been updated for 8.1.
TomTom is the de facto standard and still works despite not being updated.
Is TomTom dead now, though? Will it be updated or has it been given up on?
I use the one simply, but elegantly, named Coordinates. Shows your location and when you have the map open, it’ll show the location of wherever you place your cursor.
As far as I know it’s still being developed. Although I use Elvui which puts coords on the map and I made a Coord Block WeakAura that does the same thing as TomToms (except mine doesn’t work in dungeons yet ) so I really only use TomTom for waypoint arrow and marking the map when I need to remember multiple locations.
When you develop addons you have to upload new versions to Curse and Wowinterface separately - there’s no tool that updates both.
there’s an 8.1 update uploaded to -
I don’t understand. Can you explain the first sentence?
Also, should I grab the TomTom beta at the link you provided? I already installed TomTom through the Twitch app.
I use one called “X and Y”, which is a very bare-bones addon that puts the coords in the minimap, and on the larger map when it’s brought up. I did make a few changes of my own, though.
It means that just because it isn’t updated on one site you should search the other sites. It’s possible the author stopped updating it on one site but not the other.
Probably won’t install the beta. Download the version from the link I provided
I just tried the most recent version yesterday and it didn’t work. Absolutely nothing. Blizzard really ought to include this as part of the game, as an option. Too many people use it and it takes so long to do the updates, that by the time they’re ready, they have to start all over again. Every time I play WoW, I check to see if TT has been updated. It’s depressing. I’m a casual player for over 10 years.
