Easily bard or tinker.
You could play BM on a broken joystick.
I play Ret on a controller and its fine. I’ve also tested other classes, and most of them are fine. I’d stay away from DH and specs with a lot of abilities like the balance druid though
A good warlock used to be a great controller. Fear, succubus charm, and banish. Not sure you can do that anymore.
Honestly, why? The game allows it, but it’s not designed for it. And it seriously limits your ability to communicate with your group since you need to put it down to type. You’re just making things harder in yourself.
kmsl. Did you misunderstand or was this intentional?
I misunderstood. Way back in the elder days, controller was a group role. My bad.
Probably a simple spec like beastmaster hunter or a brewmaster monk with a fluid rotation.
Which BM, Hunter or Monk?
Ret is pretty easy to do, DK/rogue is doable with modifiers. Any caster should be easy with controllers as well.
It really just depends on your controller and set-up really. Get’s even easier if you have added support for the controller (like if you use foot pedals for modifiers or a connected contoller keyboard for out of combat keybinds.)
BM or ret, pretty brain-dead on a basic level.
Just avoid classes with targetted aoe rings.
The reason why is simple. To do a morning delve while evacuating your bowels.
Just do BM hunter theres only like 10 abilities total or something
There are some melee with easy rotations that would work for the button count but how precise is the movement with a controller?
My main is melee and I play on decently high M+ content and I know there are times if I want to max my dps plus not stress the healer sometimes I need to move very precisely and stand in a tiny safe sliver. Can you do that with a controller?
I snagged a Steam Deck a few months ago. I still play my main (this Prot Pal) on my pc, but so far Ret, Enhancement, Fury, Shadow, and easy key prot pal all feel and fit on the “controller.” Leveling, open world and low keys are super fun on controller! Modifiers of course. I use 3.
Somehow I feel like the very actiony mechanics of the Demon Hunter would excel on a controller.
Somewhat agreed but also muscle memory has made dropping my stun totem on enhancement totally doable. Just takes a bit of play to get used to. Place it anywhere I like.
Pretty much anything now with the one button thing.
I mean if we’re just talking which is the easiest to play I’m going to have to go with beastmaster. It was already dumbed down to the point that a 4-year-old could play it and now they’ve dumbed it down even more
Yea it’s entirely doable and super fun. It’s really only the support/targeting things that gets a bit rough. Selecting a party member to off heal them is slow and so is cycling though all the tab targets to get that one caster 20 yards away to int them is also rough. I just don’t tank hard content on my steam deck.
BUT movement/aiming/rotation and normal tab targeting all feel great. It has made leveling and open word stuff feel like an entire new game to me. I just didn’t really do that stuff before. Only played my main on pc cause that’s the only play that was engaging. This changed that!
I’m thinking of adding a bind to cycle though my 5 man group. Still won’t be as fast as clicking a frame but itll be plenty fast for average keys
