I was thinking druid coz the mobility and they can tank 5mans the best.
maybe a aoe frost mage ? but i was told that they made more abilitys for mobs and changed the pathing for mobs so some of the old frost mage gold farming ways will be impossible.

Hunter has and always was and will be the best farmer. There is no debating this point. All serious farmers will have a hunter alt.
Some slow dingus will spout some drivel here soon to try to refute this but it will not change the FACT that hunter is the best gold farmer, period.
Yeah hunters seem good but i dont like the idea of having to get ammo all the time and feeding your pet.
I think warlock would be more fun or mage and more rewarding at raiding.
AoE Frost Mage is far any beyond best for this. Just don’t take the frozen talent as it really messes with kiting.
You can pull upwards of 10 fire elementals in Un’Goro, and ice them down. The essences sell VERY well.
Also Dire Maul:N near the entrance is lots of trash and walls. Great for farming AoE style!
Twinkedd answered your original question. Looks like now your asking what’s 2nd or 3rd or 4th best. If you want a character with a primary focus on farming, Hunter is the “S” tier class.
Sure, we can put Frost Mage at number 2. They excel for sure at a few farming strategies. No where near as versatile as a Hunter.
Anyone know how much gold you can get from farming lower level dungeons when 60?
Like how much could i earn from a quick stockades run?
Or run through SM cat or arm?
Edit: on topic, im going to try prot pal aoe grinding. Heard it worked pretty well and the videos i saw seemed fun to try.
Paladins have ret aura, sanctuary, holy shield, shield spikes, force reactive disk and reckoning from all the hits you’ll take. High relect damage

“D” Tier: Paladin/Shaman/Priest

It’s going to depend on what you’re most efficient with. Since so much comes from mob drops, hunter ends up winning since you can have way more limited downtime on them. Mages are a close 2nd, but you have to factor in all the extra time drinking, usually it doesn’t justify the AoE advantage over the hunters.
Maybe a ret would be D tier, but from what I’ve seen, prot aoe farming is pretty good. Maybe B tier
Also, private server, also specific spot in the world, non-elite, non-dungeon. Very specific gearing.
I’m mean it looks ok, but that’s a lot of hoops to jump through to justify moving the class up the ranks of general farming. I’m willing to concede that doing this same pull over and over is probably pretty decent for that guy.
You can buy the lvl 1 ammo for when farming.
Also you should be killing things that can drop food for your pet.
AOE farming - Frost Mage/ Affliction Lock
Solo Grinding - Hunter/Warlock/Mage
but get yourself a pocket healer & the world is yours.
FYI, a protection spec’ed warrior can do good farming if you have decent HP/block%/blockV/Reflect gear. Dire Maul East lasher jump runs are extremely popular because the greys, books, greens, etc. sell extremely well and making 35g+/hr is pretty standard depending on the drop rates.
Edit: This would be for Phase 2, so likely Warriors will be lower tier in Phase 1.
Edit 2: For Phase 1, any tank (Warrior/Druid/Paladin) will be able to make a ton of money with Strat Live Orb runs typically because tanks tend to be scarce and you can reserve the first orb for your services.
Ammo all the time? Maybe once a day? Feeding your pet takes 2 seconds, especially if you’re farming beasts who drop meat.
Hunter is #1, mage will still be good even with updated abilities, but I’d say it’s a tie with warlock. Warlock kills very fast and has no down time. Also on lock you will need shards anyways so you can kill 2 birds that way.
Yeah, i agree that private server isn’t the best resource. I did see other paladin videos (sadly, also private server) of dm east farming and clearing SM Cathedral in one pull.
The gear doesnt seem as important as the talents, but obviously you need some decent gear to pull that much.
To be honest, i don’t remember this kind of stuff in vanilla. I had fun just exploring and making too many alts. This farming method seems fun and i see the potential. I hope it works well in classic, we’ll see.
That would be hunter or frost mage.
Frost mage can kite masses of clustered mobs and hunters can farm constantly with zero downtime, and can kite elites and even some instance bosses.
