I don’t care about being ranged or melee and I have fun with both. My final choices after lots of research from choosing a main for PVE, DPS content in the final was:
Could some of you guys give me a personal opinion to FINALLY focus in a char? I don’t like having alts so the old “play with all them and let’s smell flowers in the garden cause life is this way” is not my type xD
If you are just going to dps. BM hunter/elemental shaman since they have lust. And that’s one thing people want pugging mythic +.
If you don’t mind playing offspecs the monk and warrior are also nice tank options for getting dps gear quickly. Shaman can do this with healing.
Elemental shaman also has cooler visuals/rotation.
BM has its perks if you like consistent damage and being able to run off and find new and interesting pets to tame. It is one of my favorites. It’s a very relaxed play style but if you’re looking at M+ and raiding, it gets boring quite quickly (for me anyways).
I find monks stale, but their damage is good and have different specs for each role is a plus. It has a good flow, but after a week or two I got over it.
I don’t play warriors so I won’t comment on that.
I am just starting to learn Elemental switching from Enhancement and I have to say it’s pretty fun so far. The damage profile is nice, the utility is great, Resto shamans are good if you want to heal. Enhance is also in a good spot if you want to try that play style.
All in all my vote is for shaman.
With DF release date approaching… this might not be the best time to try to decide on a new main… everything is about to change in the next few months and what you think you enjoy now might become an unbearable chore to play with the new talent system…
If you wrist and finger fatigue is a thing for you, steer clear from monk and fury warrior.
But in seriousness if you find doing group content is more your thing I would recommend ele shaman. It’s easier to have more situational awareness imo if you’re not dps ‘ing some boss’s foot.
Plus ele has a pocket tank for the open world “group content” that comes up when leveling.
If playing the game hasn’t told you which one you should be playing yet, keep playing the game. What other people tell you means nothing compared to your own play style & preferences.
Fury warrior. It’s fun, it durable if you do it right and you can really lay down the hurt. Also, you can tank in a pinch.
