Best class to farm old content?

Thinking about starting to farm old raids and dungeons now that I’ve started to hit some of my goals for this expansion. For dedicated farmers, which class do you think does it best?

Druid.
Other classes have decent bursts of speed/mobility but Catform with a proper speed set can reach a permanent 250% + movement speed.

Sorry, but the answer is BM hunter. Not druid.

Druids by far. Speed aside, we get access to Dreamwalk. This spell take us to the Emerald Dream with portals to several helpful locations. But a lesser known benefit is that using the Dreamwalk spell again while inside the Dream will teleport you back to where you were. This is VERY useful for older content which has a long walk back to the start. You can use it to either just leave and go do something else, or leave and go back to run it again since it will teleport you to right outside the instance.

Edit: also stealth is nice and instant flight form.

Hands down druid.

I use my druid in Feral to farm everything. Faster in dungeons, one swipe to bring them all down in packs, self heals, and so much more.

Using engineering for Nitro Boosts (which CD resets on raid boss kill) will give all of your characters a nice speed boost and should be used in tandem with any class for farming (also wormhole toys for fast travel).

As for fastest classes/specs that goes to Feral Druid and Outlaw Rouge.

Druid is the fastest, cat goes zoom you have stealth. Feline Swiftness talent, Dash, Stampeding Roar (Nitro Boost also works while stealthed btw). Points for BWL farming because while in stealth you get to ignore the suppression room.

Rogue is also quite fast especially outlaw. You have sprint on a 1 min CD, Shadowrunner is 20% movement speed while in stealth, fleet footed is 15% movement speed. Outlaw rogue has another 15% movement speed buff, retractable hook which has 2 charges and with fatebound you can use it again within 3 seconds making you really fast in traversing. Furthermore outlaw rogue has a Treasure Tracking ability in the tracking menu so you can see chests (especially locked chests which you can pick pocket). Feral Druid vs Outlaw comparing both Feral is only slightly faster than Outlaw but with Outlaw you can see where chests are in dungeons and pick their locks.

Honorable mentions go to:

Havoc Demon Hunter has fel rush and double jump and glide, Mastery literally increases their movement speed. Vengeful retreat can be used if you are skilled and fast enough to hop in the direction your running too. Pursuit also increasing your movement speed further with mastery.

Shaman is also quite fast as ghost wolf with spirit wolf talented gives you a 50% speed boost as well as a talent like Gust of Wind (leap forward on a low CD and usable while in ghost wolf) is also nothing to sneeze at.

Hunter is surprisingly mobile and fast. You have a 1 min stealth in Camoflauge, you have Trailblazer which is 30% movement speed, Pathfinding is another 4% speed as well as Aspect of the Cheeta. Disengage with Posthaste gives you a nice movement boost if you are skilled enough (like with Vengeful Retreat).

Windwalker Monk has Tiger Lust, 3 Rolls or 2 Chi Tornado, Jade Walk (15% speed out of combat), Transcendence/Transfer if the dungeon/raid has back tracking, Flying Serpent Kick shoots you forward, and Windwalking.

Obviously BM hunter

Infant on content to move and pretty much most class are on expect a few like priest you can’t easily kill mobs since your shadow crash have a long CD

Some raid boss require you to tank them separately like one of the raids in BFA or in legion the boss boss Oldyn so in those case hunter and warlock is very useful

Also some adds before the boss require you to attack the mob with a range attack like one of the raids in MoP

probably demon hunter. something with good speed.

It depends on your goals
You just want to farm? druid/hunter
You are looking for old achievements - dk/locks/dh

anyone that says anything other than druid dont know what they are talking about

bear or cat?

Shaman. You need to do frost damage to do the level 60 Classic raids that are now no longer level 60. And then in Wrath you need a class that can heal in order to get all the way through ICC. Blizz should give shamans a 4th tank spec.

Outlaw Rouge gives Ferals a run for their money. Feral is still the best but if you don’t mind a few extra seconds Outlaw has lockpicking and treasure tracking.

Any tank that can totally drop combat and has excellent sustained heal. Druid or a Night Elf Blood DK.

Often in older content instantly pancaking an encounter and lead to it glitching out and leaving you in combat with an unwinnable encounter. Being able to reset these scenarios by dropping combat is very useful.

The sustainability of a self healing tank comes into play when soloing content from the immediately previous expansion that non-tank classes will struggle with.

Unless they fixed it, you can heal the green dragon in ICC with the bandage gun from Legion engineering.

Hunter + Barrage= whole room pull.

I second this, for OLD content there’s a Cooldown you use where u can fire a million bullets/arrows in all directions that shoot very far. you’d kill everything super fast and clean house in just a few mins.
