I mean Arms Warrior seems obvious but Paladin and DK could work too. DK could be a samurai who died and was brought back, Paladin could be more a of holy warrior samurai who serves Amaterasu, aka “The Light.” I’m almost not wanting to do Warrior for lack of decent self heals in my opinion.

It depends on what you’re classifying as “Samurai”.
From our world’s history, that is either the Arms Warrior, Fury Warrior, or Marksmanship Hunter (look it up). Survival Hunter could work if they had the same thing Marksmanship Hunters had in being able to drop the pet without reducing their DPS, though there might be some stories about samurai having pets…
Now, the reason I state which form of Samurai is because of how the Final Fantasy series (from the land which we have the samurai as a template) operate as Warriors who can use Dark Magic. Dark Magic in Final Fantasy is more Elemental-based rather than Shadow-based or Void-based like in Warcraft. This would point you more to Enhancement Shamans, but even they really don’t quite fit the bill since their skills tend to be elemental melee attacks instead of just augmenting their basic melee attacks like Shaman do. Basically they would be an Elemental-based Death Knight or Paladin.
So those are the things I would consider, basically, what do you want to get out of it.

I hate that some of the best armor for a Samurai look is mail, which warriors can wear but not mog. So I couldn’t even buy the best mail armor then mog it to look like different mail armor. yeah seems you’d have to be a hunter.
Demon hunter with ginn-su tmogged on your weapons.
In this way You even get the famed anime blade run used so often in the movies.
Ginnsu for a much cleaner dual back sheath setup.

But warforged armor chest looks way better and it only has one for plate.

What about a Windwalker Monk wielding a Katana and Wakizashi as weapons? Though their moves are a lot more “fisticuffs” in terms of combat.

What I want is the traditional swordsman with katana and armor. Not a monk or a DH type. Survival Hunter can wear mail and use a two handed sword, but they don’t have a lot of attacks imo. Is SL changing that? I sort of want a boring old human, especially once Blizz actually adds ethnicities. I haven’t seen that yet in the Beta. It STILL looks like a white man with different skin colors or hair styles like dreads or corn rows…BTW is anyone playing Ghosts of Tsushima, how is it if so?
