Best class for leveling?

Been looking for classes that are good for leveling and actually fun

here’s the problem with fun, it’s super subjective. So while I may find leveling with a mage a blast, you might hate it. Personally, I love Druid and paladin.

The most fun I’ve ever had leveling a toon was Frost Mage. I think their kit is very interesting with a lot of neat tricks to get out of sticky situations.

I think the real gameplay starts when you realize leveling isn’t really fun anymore. I feel like too many classes don’t get enough of their toolkit until much later in the game. Until you hit 60+ in most cases, you can really feel that your spec is incomplete and it’s slow and clunky.

Anyway, I’d give Arms Warrior, Windwalker Monk or Ret Paladin a try.

Hunter is probably the most fun for me leveling. Taming pets, being able to solo most content, etc… and you can pull random bosses in dungeons when the tanks aren’t ready! (the last comment is a joke, don’t do that!)

As others said, fun is super subjective but the most fun I have had leveling is my Sin rogue.

I’ve liked pet classes - Hunter, Warlock are some of my favourites. Priest is a recent joy

This is really hard to give any info on since everyone enjoys different things.
Pet classes that would be warlock / hunters
RNG rotation would be Enhance shaman playing whack a mole.
So it’s all subjective and can’t give opinions unless you say what you enjoy in a role.

Whenever I have to level a new character I always go Resto Shaman with warmode on. Up till level 60 or so you can just chain lightning plus healing rain groups without ever risking death. Most mobs die in 2-3 hits too.

If you do ever decide to go Elemental you have to press 5 different buttons and still things take forever to kill.

DPS specs shouldn’t feel like a game of attrition.

Healers in dungeons

Affliction and Assassination in the world

Hunters and melee in BGs

Frost Mage or Hunter.

Mage. Best class. Most complete basic spell kit. Well defined specs that all feel unique and effective. And they are constantly getting tuned and updated. Blizzard clearly care so damn much about getting them right.

Warlocks are also very good. But with how much they’ve had taken away from them over the years it’s easy to feel like theyre the red-headed step child.

Just like I said OP… subjective. I hope you figure out what your playstyle is, and then pick something that matches it. That will determine what is fun for you :blue_heart:

The classes that are actually fun are the ones YOU enjoy. Seriously.

I don’t get Shaman. I don’t get Rogue. I certainly don’t find them fun. Other people love them, and wouldn’t play anything else.

And it’s not just class; it’s also spec. I love Frost Mage, despite all the horrible things Blizzard have done to it. It is not what it was, but I still love it. But, while I can and do play Fire and Arcane Mage from time to time, I don’t really enjoy them. Other people LOOOOVE Fire.

All you can do is try the various classes for yourself. We can tell you things about how they play - whether they have pets, whether they have a lot of self-healing, whether they are ranged or melee - but unless you know whether you like these things, that won’t really help you.

I will never forgive Blizz for taking warlock Metamorphosis from us.

They could have at least kept the animation for various cooldowns. Like their Dark Soul spells! That would have fit perfectly!

Still, playing Hellcaller and using Malevolence does kind of remind me of it. So that’s nice. Actually I guess it’s more like that glyph that made you like a half demon tank form.

In retail? Anything you find entertaining. It’s not hard to level in retail.

WW monk is pretty good right now.

BM hunter but it also depends on your definition of fun

Anything besides Priest is good. Priest is a pain to level compared to the rest.
