Hi, gonna make my artisan Blacksmith’s hammer, what’s the best secondary? Thinking resourcefulness or multicraft? Any opinions?
Imo, it depends on what you craft. Armor/weapons without concentration? Resourcefulness for sure. Using concentration, it needs ingenuity . You making alloys/frames or weight stones? Multicraft is your friend then. For anything related to patron’s WOs, you go with resourcefulness, that happy feeling of nabbing a sanctified alloy from Vokgret is the best!
I ended up making a tool for all tree and getting an addon that switch em depending of what I craft. Have to override it sometimes, but there is an option for that. (No mats, no make) I think it is.
You should start with resourcefulness.
Reason being is that any time sanctified alloy is given as a mat in your patron orders, resourcefulness gives you a chance to steal it. This turns patron orders for blacksmithing from a painful cost into a potential profit.
Blacksmithing has the highest possible resourcefulness value of any profession in the game.
With everburning ignition, resourcefulness tool, resourcefulness enchant, resourcefulness finishing reagent, resourcefulness pot, and ignition satchel = 49% resourcefulness. This means you have almost 50% chance of stealing any mat Blizzard gives (it rolls for each one) in a patron order. This means that every time you make an item for someone in trade you have 50% chance of grabbing their sanctified alloy.
Unfortunately this also implies that alloy making is not profitable even with max multicraft. You can’t compete with someone popping these off for free from 50% of their customers.
Edit: the resourcefulness phial is only available in “winter” so it will flip back to finesse pretty soon. (Probably the most annoying profession item in the game)
