Best bg pvp classes and specs

Currently, what are the best ones? And what are the predictions for next patch? I have an alt of every class from SL and love to do bgs so just curious.

best at what?

MM Hunter is by far and away the best random BG spec. Low risk, high reward.

Hmm, I guess for me, best at flying solo and completing bg objectives. I realize that there is a best for different things. Damage, healing, flag carries, CC, etc. it’s likely I might be in the mood to do one thing and then a different thing later, so I’m looking for opinions about the “best” from your perspective.

I’d imagine playing vengeance/guardian wins a lot bgs if you’re good at it

Spin nodes and carry flags

Mage/lock/MM

would be my other recommendations

Best BG healer?

Disc, probably.

Maybe a dragon that knows what they’re doing. No dampening to hold them back in BGs.

Blood DK is pretty fun for locking down the battlefield and annoying your enemies. Team will yell at you for not carrying flags though. Just ignore them and have fun!!

Also Sin Rogue is pretty fantastic for damage, just very fragile.

MWer

Disc and dragon are good, but MWer is the best

Fire mage and MM hunter are the best at owning random BGs IMO.

Both for the same reason. If left alone to chill at max range and pop off they pump insane, often unhealable, damage. But if you focus them, as good opponents in rated games tend to do, they do far less damage and die very fast.

Fire and MM are very good at stomping noobs who let them free cast, which just so happens to be most random BG team fights lol.

Honorable mention to warlock as well. Can pump out some crazy damage if freecasting, but they don’t have the increased range of MM/fire or as many mobility options if they do get swapped to, so IMO fire/MM still has an edge over locks.

I second MM. I usually main a ret paladin, which is already quite good in randoms, but even compared to that MM hunter is just insane. Massive damage from safety, tremendous CC potential at range, can endlessly slow one target, throw people flying with explosive trap, ranged interrupt, jump & sprint, can reposition and switch target in seconds, no need to wait for pets. I am convinced that I singlehandedly won some flag maps for my team playing MM by catching running efcs or CCing their healers.

pffft MW are overrated

I outheal most MWs on my Holy Priest

And have more utility to keep people from dying than anything a MW can do

Revival is way to strong in the current meta, and rop is broken on most maps

But, do you have the mobility to be in the right place at the right time as much as a MW can?

MM, boomkins, and fury warriors for me

If you’re not sure where you stand, then MM hunters are usually your best bet for random battlegrounds.

Or even rogues. Rogues are always great for peeing people off.

Being in the right place at the right time depends on situational awareness, not mobility

Ah, so situational awareness is going to help you get from market in DWG to ruins in DWG faster than a MW with transcendence set up on a hill or help you keep up with a mobile flag runner in WSG or TP. Got it.

Different healers have strengths and weaknesses depending on the circumstances.

this a strawman argument, of which would apply to every other healer apart from Monk

in terms of keeping up with FC, I dont have problems with that either as Priest … again because of situational awareness … or have you not considered that a healer would be in front of the FC?

But for times when kiting is needed, even by a DH, we have 3x feathers + shield for constant speed + fade to escape snares, and in emergencies there’s Spirit of Redemption + Afterlife that grants a 60 yard heal range while immune to everything

SV hunter always. The closest i ever got to how much i enjoyed a class/spec was playing feral druid during MoP and WoD.
