Best and worst thing about classic in your opinion

Best : everyones positive attitudes and enjoyment in game (saying that classic is awesome in game and every person nearby agreeing enthusiastically), doing nostalgic dungeon runs to full clear everything and relive the past. 40 man communication, discord trolls and laughs.

Worst : BIS lists because they make people go in to specific dungeons with 1 item in mind, which makes people dissapointed when the item doesn’t drop and players might cop sh*t for using what gear they like.
As opposes to running dungeons for fun, looking forward to every boss and wearing full shadowcraft, dreadmist, valor ect because you like the set.
Everyone is too efficiency focused now, when the difficulty of raids isn’t really there to justify it.

The best for me is the social aspect of it. I don’t tend to be very social in video games (or life, really), but man this game has brought out a much more social side of me. I typically really enjoy jumping in a 5 man with randoms, helping people out that I come across even if it’s just tossing a buff (but even better when it’s rescuing someone from a gank or dying from a mob). I also lucked out and landed one fantastic guild, a solid group of talented players who have even made my anti social self feel quite welcome.

The worst part to me is hard to nail down, and honestly there’s enough negativity around for me to not really care to focus on it.

best is doing dungeons just because they’re fun to run, i don’t need an incentive to go somewhere other than just wanting to do it

worst is that i’m not allowed to enjoy my casual BGs because 80% of the bg community is sweaty premades who autowin vs just about any pug in either mode. I don’t know why a game like WOW inspires such a “hardcore” PVP mindset in people when there’s much better games to play for serious PVP

I like the fact that it’s slower paced and getting anything is more of an achievement. It’s more fun to just explore. I don’t like the fact that some of the economy is really weird compared to what I remember in vanilla.

For example, I remember that I would listen to podcast while pool fishing and make a decent amount selling blackmouths, firefin, etc. Now I feel like no one buys fish?

Best: The overall nostalgia trip. Pretty vague, I know, but that’s why I came back and why I stay.

Worst: No new players coming into the game. This is expected, I guess, but it has a lot of ripple effects. For example, no tanks! I don’t need any gear at this point but I still enjoy running 5-mans with friends, guildies and even randoms. But with so few toons coming up (all alts) relative to server pop, it’s made it really tough to consistently get dungeon runs together, especially combined with BGs and raidlogging.

Best: players talking with players

Worst: the amount of Botting and spawn camping rare resources

:fish: :bear:

Best: The game being designed with a focus on aesthetics, lore, and fantasy in encounter, class, and item design rather than being an arcade-like hyper optimized experience. Where others see things broken and useless, I see character. The fact that there are rarely, if ever, arbitrary restrictions on certain items such as “can only be used outdoors in X zone”, makes the player feel much more like a part of the world, and not like some strange omnipresent being is tugging them along on a leash.

Worst: The power/metagaming community. Saps all the life out of everything, basically turning the game into nothing more than a colorful math exam. Min-maxing is to be expected, and enjoyable, but when it gets to a point that one is logging out in the middle of a raid between CD’s to preserve world buffs, viewing meters as a sort of pseudo-PvP where you have to be on top to win, or stacking garr’s adds on top of him just for a dumb number on warcraftlogs, you’re no longer playing WoW; you’re playing warcraftlogs. These players have been the bane of every RPG in existence, from pen and paper to 3d video games. They are the community that should never be heard.

Best - The game feels like an actual RPG in a way no other game really has in the last decade

Worst - Private server/minmax info being available before the game is even out.

Best - My guild and the social feeling.
Worse - These forums.

Simple and respectable end game, void of any artifact systems of any sort.

Less catch up mechanics.

Professions and alts are beneficial.

The slow leveling makes sure you learn your class well at cap. In retail you have 120 Hunters who don’t know how to turn taunt off their pet.

More reasons to talk to other people and be nice to each other.

Minuscule time gates compared to retail.

The worst:

Min max community: AV pre-mades and dungeon spammers.

The best tank is Warrior and the best healer is Priest. I like Priest, but those who don’t like these two classes take a backseat by default.

I suppose me not liking warrior is a me issue more than anything, it’s a lack of variety regardless.

Hybrid itemization is terrible.

Playing a different spec comes at a big price.

Walking around so often starts to get to you. (I guess Wrath made it level 20 for a small amount of gold for a reason.)

Best : No Dungeon Finder, as a filthy casual I like to take things a little slow. In retail you glide thru everything quickly once you hit 15 its dungeon finder till cap which felt efficient but like not right? I dunno, anyways in classic you gotta take it slow and you really get a chance to read the quests and lore. I guess i wasnt really forced to use dungeon finder in retail but it felt kinda necessary to really level at a decent speed or something. I dunno how to explain it but I like questing in classic vs dungeon finder in retail although ofcourse I do do dungeons in lts just an entirely different experience.

Con: I HATE MATERIAL STACKS BEING SO LOW! Herbs stack up to 20 only…my precious bag space…

KInda fun grinding as well, log in for a few minutes when needing a study break, off a few mobs and back to work.

Best: experiencing content I never got a chance to experience(vanilla raids)

Worse: the forums/pvp community
