what’s the best alliance race for rolling a hunter? i got a high-level horde hunter (level 114 undead) but i don’t know what to roll for an alliance one. any ideas folks? err… just to clarify, i more want the boomstick-style hunter, rather than the sneaky archer kind.

i don’t know if your being legit about that suggestion or not, but it’s off the table for me Orctang. i don’t have those walking trash-bags unlocked.
Yeah, it’s cool but their racials are op.
A Dwarf, Human or Gnome(?). They were made for holding guns.
Dwarf (either one) master Alliance race.

I have different hunters for different themes.
Draenei since BC, he tames whatever I like, all sorts of animals.
Mechagnome, only tames mech pets.
DiD, only tames fire looking pets.
Human, based on my dad, so only tames animals based on pets we’ve had.
I also have mag’har, undead and z troll. 
I have a lot of alts, but hunters and taming pets are fun.

Dwarf or Gnome.
Part of me wants to suggest NE, but man then you have to play an Elf. The reason being is shadowmeld. On a NE you get shadowmeld, feign death, and freezing trap.
If you think about DPS, number for number, it is Night Elves. “We” might not be active racials like Light Forged for damage, but all in all, the “day/night bonus”, and nature resistance helps a lot being a hunter. As none have pet racial bonus like the Horde, still the best for hunters.
(Suggestion): Have you considered Mechagnomes? We have strong racials, and a Hunter can pull off a pretty good rusted aesthetic.

I’m biased so dwarf gets my vote. Also fits your boomstick-style perfectly.

You can look like a Mountaineer/Rifleman
Ironforge
Beards
Great personalities
Excellent emotes
If you have Dark Iron unlocked I suggest them as well.

I suggest Gnomes, Pandaren, or Worgen.
Gnomes and firearms go hand-in-hand, some of the best looking transmogs look amazing when paired with the Gnome. Add mechanical pets and the Engineering profession for the perfect Tinker-like adventurer.
Pandaren have their own style of firearms, as do the Mogu, giving you a unique appearance to the traditional boomstick. Excellent racials make good use of food buffs and the bouncy trait is fantastic for exploring and incorrectly disengaging.
Do you want something with a classic style? Worgen are your right, proper gentlemanly hunters, who prefer tried and true design without all that fancy shamncy. Long-barrel rifles with sights, and some proper hunting attire, will have you pinpointing targets in no time.
