Hi guys, I’m leveling a priest in order to try healing in SS but I alsow ant to queue as shadow from time to time.
What would be the race that benefith both ?

BUT void elf both looks cool and has nice qol racials :> you can play anything tho

EDIT: overall I’d probably say void elf now after reviewing racials again (three good racials for both specs), with night elf still my second place pick if you’re decent at getting value with shadowmeld.
Personally I still prefer night elf because melding a full clone or other cc just feels so satisfying to me, but if you’re not keen on focusing targets or paying attention to what secondary targets are casting, then def go void elf imo.
If we ever return to a meta where ferals and assassination rogues plague the ladder or you are not able to get consistent value from shadowmeld (e.g., if you aren’t decent at or caring about melding things like clones, fears, sleeps, chaos bolts, etc.), then dark iron dwarf.
If a complete beginner, I suppose human for stat boost.
At the end of the day though, if you’re not pushing for rank 1 titles, your race isn’t going to matter much

Play the race you think is cool. None of it matters unless you’re pushing R1.

For your average player is pretty bad for priest lol… Dwarf and human are easy and better lol… Good elf also had potential
Gnome can be nice since Escape Artist is 1 minute CD and doesn’t share a trinket CD. Priest generally has very few ways to move around. I think it’s better than Void Elf Spacial Rift personally since that’s on a 3-minute CD.
Nelf Shadowmeld is very good, but it requires a high skill ceiling to pull it off consistently.
Human racial is really nice for stuns and their passive racial is good, making Human a decent choice.
And Dwarf is good defensively but I personally don’t think it’s as good as the other races I’ve mentioned already for Priest.
I personally made my Priest a Gnome. Escape Artist just alleviates so many frustrating snares and root situations that it’s really hard to give it up on a class with so few movement options. I’d say Void Elf or Human for the 2nd choice picks. The best part of Void Elf is no spell pushback when casting EVER which is going to feel amazing on Spriest with its channel spells. Human is close because of the secondary stat boost racial. Night Elf is very good, again, just not worth it for me in comparison.

Had to brush up on their racials, but yeah I agree with this. Forgot about the entropic embrace passive too.

I level boosted mine and REALLY regret it

Nelf > Dwarf /Dark iron = human = Void Elf.
Shadow meld cause you can just straight up avoid damage with it. + also gets pets off you. drops combat for drinking in normal areana. BG’s drops combat to mount and priest are slow so its kind of major for BG players.
Dwarf is just a auto cleanse that helps relieve pressure. Super good vs dot classes. only threatening dot is UA from locks which can apparently hit for 4mil. + stops silence from sp’s / dks which as a healer stopping frost DK goes is super important because they will skill check you.
Human for self stun dispel. on SP gives you a trinket every 1 min which can be used for stuns. 1 min CD is Dark Ascension which is when we send our burst. (so damage uptime) + its like a free 1.5% haste / vers at this point of the expac.
Void elf gives you the ability to do some cheeky fears. And semi instant repositing (which priest as a whole lacks). Also no push back on spell casting, which is minor but does have its moments.
— gnome is pretty meh imo unless you’re doing healer pure 3’s. The escape artist big moment is vs a root beam druid, of which Dwarf and VE can get you out of. The increased mana doesnt really matter in SS. Nelf allows you to drink in all other content anyway.
