Best addons/weakauras for high mythic+/raiding?

What are some addons/weakauras you’ve found extremely useful and can’t live without when you’re pushing high end content?

The best addon I found for donging high quality mythic+/raiding is DBM.

  • Big Wigs>DBM

  • Weak Auras for the majority of things.

  • Plater is very useful

  • Twitch Emotes v2 so I can spam chat with annoying emotes and act childish.

  • GTFO if your awareness is lacking. No shame in using it.

  • Masque so I can make my stuff look clean with minimal effort.

  • Nameplate Auras so I can see CC on mobs with a nice big visible icon above their names.

  • OmniCD to track other people’s interrupts and cooldowns (more important for tanks and healers, the interrupt tracker is good for everyone though).

  • Quartz bc it gives me one cast bar for every character setup the way I like.

  • ElvUI primarily for aesthetics.

  • Details so I can call my friends out on not interrupting or using stops.

  • I alter my chat boxes through a gimmick you can do loading a different graphic. Lets me see people’s text clearly without wasting space.

  • Vuhdo for healing, I just copy Growl’s setup. It’s pretty good all around.

The UI is probably my favorite part of the game, no lie. Love setting up UIs. In order of importance though:

  • Weak Auras
  • Plater
  • Big Wigs
  • Omni CD
  • Everything else

Use these both with the voice pack shown on that page along with DBM for raids and dungeons and your life will become much easier. DBM > Bigwigs imo because it works together with the weakauras I listed. I don’t believe they do with bigwigs?

#1 by far is focus-kick-macro. If you aren’t using this you aren’t serious about M+

  • Kyrakka wind direction weakaura
  • Wise Mari water spout timer
  • use bigwigs countdown for spells your spec should care about (prot warrior spell reflect, healer CDs, etc)
  • the Korean targeted-by-spell weakaura
  • Odyn rune helper weakaura

Other helpful ones

  • make a weakaura for Crawth that makes it very obvious how many stacks of Sonic Vulnerability you have
  • same thing for Uncontrollable Energy on Raging Tempest

I like plater for name plates. It’s a little complicated to set up, but if you use it right out of the box too it’s fine. :slight_smile:

You usually can’t go wrong getting weakauras with the highest amount of downloads for what you need. Don’t go overboard using everything at once. Work into each one so you know what they’re for and to sort out any performance issues.

Something I will say that most people aren’t touching on is this: Please learn how to customize your addons and weakauras. So many people just brainlessly download addons and weakauras b/c they are told they are good, but don’t actually take the time to sift through the options and setting of these tools.

Learning how to turn off, or emphasize timers in DBM/BW, how to manipulate custom options and triggers in Weakauras, and just general ability to actually customize your addons will make you a vastly more informed player than the dingo who just pulls stuff off wago or curseforge with every possible setting and sound turned on.

WA is super powerful and I love tinkering with it, essentially ‘programming’ in a rotation… but it leaves a lot to be desired. Not intuitive for the uninitiated and lacks good support material. I’d also say some of that is fast development and no good strategy for upkeep.
