Benthic needs a nerf

What would be the non default settings on a character sim? Not optimal?

I made the same point last night and was shouted down with similar logic. Blizzard encourage players engage in multiple gameplay formats to gear their toon so the idea your point is invalid contradicts their whole design philosophy.

Most specs have 2-4 bis pieces from benthic gear. This means 2-4/10 upgrade slots from chest are invalidated before the ilvl bump, 2-4/10 rewards for the season are invalided before the first item even drops. For raiding its 2-4/13. Its just whole new level of RNG to screw you, did you dodge the benthic gear bullet with your chest / raid drops.

In such a poorly received expansion where people have complained about how uninteresting gear is they invalidate so much of it before a season even begins and people here think its great.

Simple fix, buff Benthicc boots to 455

They would probably be siming at an item level over 500 at that point lol.

Well crap… gotta buff them to 500 then.

Benthic in raid. The other boots elsewhere.

Mythic + needs a nerf. I’m fairly certain the majority of people don’t like doing timed content. People are mean enough as it is WITHOUT there being a timer.

Hmmmm…was this posted in the correct thread?

Yes. OP is complaining that his mythic + gear isn’t stronger than benthic. I’m glad It’s this way. Forcing people to do timed dungeon runs every week is boring.

The 455 boots are better in all other aspects of the game but one instance
The horror.

I have no problem with other avenues of gearing but to have gear that takes hardly no effort to get sim so high for some classes that it’s on par with an item level that isn’t even in the game is pretty ridiculous.

What other aspect of the game? The only other one where gear could be considered a factor is Mythic+. In reality, you don’t even have to take the boots off for that either. The ā€œother aspects of the gameā€ argument isn’t a viable argument for not nerfing the darn things.

Random PvP, Rated PvP, Random dungeons, M0, M+, Other raids, Island expeditions, The entire World.
You ignoring the existence of other aspects of the game because you care too much about one single place isn’t even an argument but a rant.

The 455 boots are better in other content, the boots designed for Azshara’s Eternal Palace are better in Azshara’s Eternal Palace.

Sounds like it is working great to me.

Out of all that, the only one that matters is Mythic+. Again, none of that is a factor for not nerfing the portion of the boots that cause them to outclass pieces of gear that don’t even exist in the game.

If this was the case how come I get a helm with 400 str, 100 crit, and 50 haste from raids, and then when I go into PvP I get another helm with 400 str, 100 crit, and 50 haste?

Outside of these new pieces with bonus effects (that aren’t included in stat allocation) Blizzard has homogenised the hell out of gear in WoW to the point where doing one piece of content automatically makes another obsolete.

I been thinking about this and my solution is simple and it would apply to all titanforges/warforges going forward. Some may hate it though.

Remove sockets from the warforge table then do the following.

1 Socket added is baseline to Mythic Dungeons/Normal Raids…
2 Sockets added is baseline to Heroic Raids
3 Sockets added is baseline to Mythic Raids.

Jewels may need to be rebalanced to fit the new numbers but this would guarantee the higher tier gear is always better while only barely if at all affecting the world quest and dungeon players.

I agree with you. They have different formats canalizing each other. M+ invalidates heroic raiding and pvp, mythic raiding is much more reliable for gear then weekly chest. I am just dealing with the situation as it is. Its all pretty awful.

All of that matters.
Grinding Ap in the world matters
rated PvP matters
Everything else matters for basically most of the wow pop.

Not when it comes to BiS.
