Long ago wow made a choice… that choice was to allow people to cheat the progression system by grinding easy content.

This is the logical end to that path we started down a decade ago.

Damn you sunwell badge vendor damn you to hell!

Yeah, the entire benthic system is broken. 425>455 is really fun game design! farming WQ on 8 alts to funnel your main for months. Yikes.

Then…don’t…do…it…?

So many people took your advice, but for BFA as a whole.

Remove toxic content like Mythic Raiding.

Then you’ll just have toxic heroic raiding. Or toxic normal raiding. Or toxic (Insert high end content here).

There’s nothing inherently toxic about mythic raiding anyways. As long as there is competitive content in the game (which there should be) there will always be people pushing the limits of that content.

There are specs who use 4 Benthic pieces as BIS.

I’m one of those specs. Hell, I use 5 pieces of benthic including the aberrations belt swapping out for vim’s.

I dont get the WQ design system as a whole. Player involvement was much higher when 95% of your gear was gained in 5 mans and raids. Even badge gear back in the day was obtained in this manner.

They either need to throw away the WQ system or completely revamp it where it doesnt feel like an absolute chore at end game. BC/Wrath just did gear progression better.

People choose to create their own type of hell in a game. Its not the game’s fault that the paths or choices are their for the players to choose from. One could argue that over the years because people complained so much about choices being too boring or not rewarding enough that they been removed from the game all together. And that we live in a time of actually very limited choices.

But still you choose your own poison when it comes to progression as well as how you handle your alts. I personally do not feel the need to keep my alts at top ilvl that is as powerful or near powerful as my main raiding toon. I see no point in it. Keeping them all at a ilvl that allows them to easily deal with world content and farm is all that is needed. Maybe that is why I can handle 40 alts and make a ton of gold off them every xpac without getting any gray hairs and stressing out over it.

The raid is going to be out for a long time, I could care less about racing to see who gets to the finish line the quickest, it means nothing to me. Simply I will never be in a worlds 1st team and never going to try to be. So why rush everything then end up bored for months on end with nothing to accomplish because you feel you have beaten the game per say. And the fact is that gear in it self will only carry you so far even with the min/maxing of numbers. It takes a lot more of skill at the mythic raid level, gear is the frosting on the cake.

Gimp yourself by 8% damage. That will go over real well. That’s how you get benched btw.

it would be so much better if you could grind pearls in dungeons not unlike Frost badges of a bygone era…
hell throw that tabard in for rep too!

Not an option if you want to progress.

For a week or so, every day there were 2 or 3 Nazjatar world quests that dropped Benthic gear as a reward. I did them on Rainstorm and outfitted a DK alt (Lafayett), with 2 pieces of armor left over.

For the last several days, no WQs are rewarding Benthic gear. I wonder if it was a special “Benthic week” or something.

I’ve enjoyed it for Heroic raiding.

Blizzard wants you to min max your gear by also doing content outside of raiding. Can you say “time played”? Sure you can.
