Is it me or the benthic armor has a pattern? I just opened 34 of them (trying to gear an alt) And i got the same combination of stats EVERY time.

Trying to get the best combination possible and it doesnt go through.

I’d never open 34 pieces of the same item at the same time. You have to use RNG to your advantage and open things at different times across multiple days.

Ok ok, hold on. What do you mean when you said “use the RNG at your advantage”? Is there something that am i missing?

Most RNG uses a computer algorithm based on time. If the time based seed isn’t refreshed often enough, then the generator will return the same numbers over multiple runs. By making sure there are gaps in the time, you can get more randomness out of it.

Though, Blizzard could switch to a cryptographic number generator but then they run the risk of running out of entropy over time. If that happened then we would have the same problem with multiple rolls giving the same numbers.

You mean you only ever got one set of stats? Seems unusual.
There are limited combinations though, so you definitely are unable to get any 2 combinations, most are limited to 3 or 4 different stat combinations.

Yes, it does, some pieces have fixed stats, other have very little variation (1 or 2 at most).

Azerite pieces for example have only one variant.

Is benthic gear tied up to a dialy rotation on the stats that it could probably give or something? I just dont get it, i feel more lost than before now :disappointed_relieved:

I’m looking for an specific combination tho, something that has for example versa. I opened 37 benthic belts in order to get something with versa and i LITERALLY got the same piece over and over and over and over. Crit and haste. But no versa. Thats why im asking here.

I’d look up the item if i were you and make sure that there IS actually another set of stats you could possibly role. I think my belt… or soemthing… wouldn’t change so I was stuck with haste and vers?

RNG is like a slot machine. If you keep losing at one particular machine, stop playing it.

Go back and try again in a few days or so. That’s what I’ve done with the Benthic and I’ve managed to get more haste on my toons.

Leather wearing class right? If so, yeah, that’s the only possible outcome.

Wait, now that’s weird, I didn’t know Haste/Crit was for Mail, only for Leather

Belts show only 2 available varieties for Mail drops, and both of them grant crit and mastery.
If you want vers you unfortunately won’t get any there.

I think I’d have stopped rolling way before I used up 34 pieces of gear I didn’t want.

So after rolling 20 of the exact same piece of gear, did you still somehow figure it was going to change? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I just went on a research on wowhead and i just saw the possible combinations.

They are fixed, i thought they were totally random.

Idk if stats are fixed on all the Benthic gear or not. I do know I have yet to get a belt with haste but I’ve gotten boots with haste and boots without.

I’ve managed to get haste on legs that before, I had legs with vers instead so it is possible to get the stats you need.

There are some really poor algorithms out there. There are no truly random numbers though.

ya some items are fixed stats, I was wondering why i was getting same stats on belts. And I saw someone link the wowhead article.
