I am trying to swap a character from Benediction → Grobbulus and am totally unable to do so despite the latest available communication from Blizzard stating that this should be possible using the free faction transfer tool. I have made a ticket and received a very unhelpful reply. Before you ask, I do not think this is due to faction balancing, let me explain further.
I have a group of friends playing Horde on Grobb, and I had an Alliance 85 Death Knight on Benediction that I wished to free transfer there to play with them. I attempted to transfer as Alliance first, figuring I could faction swap when I got there. When I open the free faction swap tool, the only available listing is Ra-den. I understand Grobb is faction locked to maintain balance.
So, I figure I faction swap while still on Benediction because Horde must be the open faction currently. That was a mistake, as after I purchased the faction swap on Benediction, even still the only available option to swap to is Ra-den. I now have a Horde character and an Alliance character on Benediction, and neither are eligible to swap to Grobbulus meaning that this is not the faction locking, but rather the free transfers from Benediction → Grobbulus are just no longer working. In my search, I have found other people with characters on Benediction experiencing this exact thing as well.
Now I am stuck with a character I just spent $33 to faction change on a dead legacy server.
