Howdy!
When I look in my tailoring “journal”, it says that the source for the Belt of the Archmage pattern is Knot’s cache from the (new) “Free Knot!” quest in Dire Maul. Could someone please confirm that this is actually true?
I do realize that RNG is R but after running DM many times and only getting the LW recipes (and Happy Fun Rocks!), I’m wondering if this is wrong. I saw in the PTR patch notes that the LW recipes, Ogre Suit, and this tailoring pattern can be looted in Knot’s cache. However, the official release patch notes only mention the LW recipes and Ogre Suite, not the Belt of the Archmage pattern. So now I’m not sure what to believe.
Thanx!

It’s one of a number of items that can be purchased from the Time-Lost Trader who spawns if your tailor has the Synchronous Thread item from BfA.
Thanks. I should have mentioned that I was aware of this vendor and that it’s a potential source for the pattern. I’m just curious if it’s also available from the Free Knot quest or if the tailoring journal is wrong (which I suppose should be reported as a bug). I also have a couple of chars who are tailors but didn’t (and won’t) work their way through the BfA expansion, so the vendor won’t work for them.
Ah ok. Sadly the descriptions on location for items is sometimes misleading or incomplete, and this is one of them, in that it doesnt mention the vendor. I have no idea if the quest still offers it as I never did that.
I hadn’t actually purchased it myself on my tailor, so I loaded her up just now and went to Kul Tiras and by the most amazing luck she spawned on the first tap. I’d taken along the required material just in case, so I picked it up myself. I have most of the other patterns, but I must go back and try for the rest. Unfortunately the pattern is BoP so you can’t onsell it. It is worth working on a tailor to get the item as those few patterns are quite nice.
