Bellular is worried. 8 Reasons Why WoW Shadowlands Will Fail Hard

They made a rework of Torghast in the last build that has me a little more excited, reworking the reward structure in a way that more greatly reflects skill and less of a grindy slog, but I remain skeptical. Removing torments, removing most forms of loot, and allowing you to simply grind the lowest floors for currency had me extremely worried for it as a piece of content worth paying attention to. It’s pretty obvious they don’t exactly know how Torghast “should be”, and considering how “open to dialogue” they’ve been and how at odds other people’s perception of what Torghast “should be” as a form of skill-based content is with my own, I remain skeptical. I’m not “hyped” they’re going to do it right because it has been going through substantial revisions and I have no idea if the spinning wheel will land on “+10000” or “Lose a turn”. I imagine there are other folks in the same boat hence Bellular bringing it up as a point in his video.

No, I have an issue with him for saying “Oh, you guys think you have an issue? No no no, that’s not an issue, you should really be angry about X Y Z, that only effect my guild and a few dozen other guilds across the entire game”. How are you going to pretend to be a “man of the people” and straight up ignore the people and broadcast your own gripes? In fact, it’s funny - I previously gave Bellular crap for “changing his mind” to suit whatever the dominant narrative was, and now I’m annoyed at him for trying to tell other people that “the narrative is wrong”, and that “the people are wrong for having concerns with the hype factor”.

You don’t get to tell me if I should or shouldn’t be hyped, lol.

Bellular is a gasbag, he does nothing but talk and out of 10 minutes of it you might get 1 minute of info.

the only one i DISLIKE is he who shall not be named in here…“A…” something.
And thats solely because of his seriously childish demeanor during a mog contest he had going on. He acts like a spoiled 5 year old child at times.
Bellular and maybe 3 or 4 others are ok enough, but Hazelnutty gives me all the info I need without making me feel like she’s trying to bait me or there are some unspoken strings attached.
Shes overly pleasant, to a fault.

The man made a video about the things he likes about the expansion and another about the things he doesn’t. These are his opinions, it’s fine.

Those of you who take what he says as gospel and those of you who look down on him for expressing his thoughts or for having a YT channel are just strange.

Covenant imbalance is a problem for anyone. You can’t just say “this shouldn’t be a problem for you because you’re not Mythic raiding.” It’s a worry for the whole game. One of which Ion agrees, with, acknowledges, and even says himself.

You seemingly just want to force someone into some sort of category, as if there’s sides in this. Bellular has made two videos talking about what worries him, and what excites him. He’s looking at this through a balanced lense.

You don’t get that ability to do so either. The two most-promoted features are the selling points of the expansion and thus their “hype machines.” It doesn’t matter if you like them or not. They’re the selling points.

Thats how I took it. I love 90% of the game…hate the other 10%.
Thats how most of my life is.
its ok to voice our likes about something…then complain about the crap.
No contradiction there whatsoever

Is that why you never hit 120?

I do get to tell you if I’m hyped. I mean this is literally what we’re talking about. Bellular said in his video he has received a lot of feedback from his fans that “the expansion isn’t hype”, that in their mind it does not have big selling points. That is the public perception at least according to him about his own fanbase. That is a “fact”. It doesn’t matter if Blizzard says Torghast should be hype, if the fans are not hyped about it, they’re not hyped about it. Bellular telling people “well, you guys aren’t hyped, but you should be” certainly isn’t going to just convince people.

Bellular used to be respectable. Now he does anything for the clicks.

That is fair. Although I consider it just another outlet for entertainment. Some people prefer viewing shorter clickbait videos. Catering to different audiences isn’t exactly bad.

Implying that it’s not a real career.

Please tell me you understand the definition of hype…

promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.

It is their selling point. It doesn’t matter whether or not you like it, it is a selling point and it is what they’re promoting.

Nice burn !

I genuinely dont care for streamers making videos like this. I dont really care about these peoples opinions… if want to watch them its cause of their play. But on the same note… he wants ML back… which is just a way for guilds to give loot to whoever they want which most guilds will use cause they go, oh its for prog…

He also talking about affixes and saying how they make everything feel the same, and then in the very next sentence say that the affixes change in each dungeon… like wtf… IDK i just genuinely dont find his points credible.

slang

: excellent, cool

Although it is also used as a noun in this case to mean “something worth being excited about”.

I don’t know what you’re trying to prove. Something isn’t a selling point because you aren’t that excited about it?

Bellular is now evil for saying he doesn’t think it matters?

Bellular is always whatever it’s popular to be on a given day. He’s like a robot.

Yes. That’s how it works (I am reading “you” as a plural “you”, as in all potential customers).

a feature of a product for sale that makes it attractive to customers.

If the feature doesn’t make it “attractive to customers”, it isn’t a selling point. Yes, that’s literally how that works. You’re getting it. If Torghast and Covenants aren’t enough to make people want to buy the expansion, they’re not strong selling points.

A selling point is a selling point. Doesn’t matter if they’re strong or not. They’re still a selling point. Bellular thinks both of them are strong features, which I guess you missed in the video. What he’s saying is that there’s nothing flashy like a brand new race or a class. Which have typically been used in past expansions.

But he still thinks they’re selling points.

Aaaaahhhh he wasn’t THAT down on it. The title is kinda trigger bait.
Plus hes put out plenty where he praised SL, soooooo.
