Belluar new video is right about the current devs not liking established lore

Most people felt that way and that’s why we’ve lost most of our playerbase LOL

The whole “well that’s just like your opinion man” is so old by now and really just singles YOU out. No way a real human being that’s played this game before is content with the state of the game.

People take to the forums because they want to see the game get better. Nobody is happy seeing wow lose millions of players; pretty sure everyone here loved this game at one point

i completely disagree. Just go in some of these zones on classic, listen to the music, look at some of the enemies, watch some of the cinematics. It definitely has more of a brutish atmosphere. DF has a very wonderous, playful vibe to its world.

There’s a difference between off-in-the-corner one-off’s that are a quiet reference to another game and having something like Uldum, Westfall, or Redridge having zone-spanning pop culture reference quests.

Right. Well, the game doesn’t let you read or play a story. And clearly someone thought the story is awful in the game if they tapped Metzen to come back.

Blizzard’s inability to plan things out is always going to make this happen.

Well that’s an interesting theory but where’s your proof? There are over 100 thousand people playing this game and no where near that many enter notes in the forums. Also foums are notoriously biased toward angry players who want to hear people saying what they want to hear.

So other than the forum echo chambers, where are you seeing any proof that the 100 thousand players agree with the minority of players who form the forum echo chamber of players who hate this game?

Nothing but a bunch of ideologues pushing their California agenda into the game.

This is today’s Activisim Blizzard, the games are worse for it, and nobody wants to admit it.

Are you asking me to debate whether we’ve lost players or whether its because of dev design that we lose players???

Chat is this real?

I’m glad you enjoy this game but come on. Its all public information. Keys are falling and nowadays we have zones that are doa. Zaralec was dead.on.arrival.

I think the devs just plain hate elves.

When was the last time a blood elf was shown in an important cinematic or story since Burning Crusade? When have the Night Elves not been totally screwed over in the story?

When have the orcs or humans or dwarves or gnomes or goblins or trolls been the ones to take a L?

Why is Khadgar a human when it is impossible for a short lived dumb human to be better at and more knowledgeable about magic than a 2000 year old elf.

Thrall should have been killed off in Burning Crusade and replaced with a Blood Elf.

For that matter why are night elves druids? This makes no sense. The Night Elves have been around for tens of thousands of years. They were here fighting alongside the giants 10,0000 years ago so there is no way they would be dumb enough to worship dumb animals. They know what the nature of the cosmos is. That animals are dumb mindless beasts with no knowledge or wisdom.

But the absolute worst part was when they hrd out a semi important elf npc, of which there are practically none, with the Alexstraza body type to a human and made their kid half human. NO! That is so insulting to elf players and makes no sense. Elves are a different species. They view humans the way we view dogs. They would not consider mating with humans as that would be disgusting to an elf.

Of course this always happens. Human writers hand out female elves as prizes to human males all the time. They refuse to understand that elves are a separate species who wants to preserve their species and not have it be polluted.

Yeah humans are horny and short sighted because they live for around 45 years in fantasy settings, but elves who live for thousands of years are not horny and put long term goals above short term gains.

his criticisms come from a place of passion, he clearly loves the game and wants to see it do better. when the game is good he praises it, when it’s not he levels some valid criticisms toward it

Lmao the dev that deleted the YouTube link to the video.

Thank God Chris Metzen is back so you guys stop writing this Steven universe nonsense AND I’M SOMEONE THAT LOVES STEVEN UNIVERSE but warcraft isn’t meant to be that.

Yes we are probably losing players but there are many reasons that have been mentioned. Here are just a few of the reasons people have actually given for the “Only reason people are no longer subscribed”.

  • When WOW was first created it was one of the only D&D like MMOs around. Now there are hundreds of new ones each year.
  • In an industry where 5 years is middle aged and 10 years is an antique, WOW is an 18 year old game competing with tons of new technology.
  • The trend these days is toward social media and mobile where WOW doesn’t play well.
  • Some say it’s the story writting particularly in BFA and ShadowLands.
  • Or it’s the toxic culture of the players that’s causing people to leave.
  • Others point to specific abilities like “borrowed power” that have been taken away.
  • Next we hear that it’s time gating
  • Death. Wow players aren’t getting any younger, and younger players don’t share the same attraction to MMOs… particularly ones dominated by older people.
  • The questing requirements are not long and grinding enough.
  • The questing requirements are to long and grinding.
  • They heard Activision say: “If you don’t like the game, go play something else.”
  • or… “The game is not meant for you”.
  • SL had too many mobs close together.
  • The Horde/Alliance cold war.
  • The China fiasco.
  • No regular flying at expansion launch is what killed the game.
  • Dear Blizz you cut this feature I loved so I quit.
  • Fed up with the loot system/RNG
  • Want an MMO with less focus on dungeons and raids
  • They want RPG content
  • No player housing
  • Long server down times.
  • People don’t like power systems.
  • LFR !!!
  • WoW is too hard core.
  • Blizzard cut employee bonuses by 58% despite getting a strong fiscal year.
  • This list is too long (someone actually gave that as a reason).
  • And the number one reason people no longer like World of Warcraft …
You can cook food but you can’t eat it.

remember how in shadowlands elune basically said she let the night elves die when she could have saved them to send them to her sister when they die

COPE MORE

You need to stop pretending that the game isn’t being asphyxiated by the current team in charge and seriously stop blaming the playerbase lol they aren’t in a echo chamber the reality is more people are unhappy with the state of the game than there are people who are content with that soft garbage that is dragonflight

metzen is back now he is THE warcraft dev who created all the OG wow and warcraft races back story and art of what they look like and made most of the maps and art of the envirement and zones.

Yeah well if thats the case, OP they just about to get pawned by “old established lore” cause Metzen is back and i bet this hello kitty island adventure vibe is going out the window with dragonflight ending. Bring bar WAR into warcraft, faction conflict and tension, big scary dragons and monsters and some true Azerothian themes. Lets goooo

Wow is garbage now and we got kids leading it. I cant believe the exploit on gold GOLD used to hold value now it seems like this game is only.enjoyable if u habe gold to raid i played 13 years ago came back recently thia year and its sad to say wow is melting its community and wow is only mlaing profit because of good farmers

That may well be. As I said, this is a list of things I’ve picked up, mostly from the forum, of things one person or another thought were the main or only reason for subscriptions dropping off.

I never said the player base was an echo chamber. I said the player base has 100 thousand people. A fraction of them participate in the forums and a fraction of forum people make up the “echo chamber” of angry people who think they speak for “the players”.

When the echo chamber says the devs don’t listen to “the players”, what they really mean is that the devs don’t listen to the small percentage of “the players” who make up the forum echo chamber.

By the way this is not unique to WOW. Other games have forums where you see the same thing, a small percentage of the players forming an echo chamber of angry people telling each other what they want to hear about how terrible the game is.
