Being unlucky in SS gatekeeps you out of r1 range

its funny how being a ret paladin, if you get an hpal in your lobby your in such a massive disadvantage that you cannot win at r1 mmr in SS and therefor gatekept from r1 by rng. i had a double hpal lobby and went 1-5 because i managed to cheese a win with double assass aff lock. Ive had so many lobbies where i cant even have a chance to win even playing perfectly that its just been an rng fest of having 6-0 or 5-1 into 1-5 or 2-4 because skill has no place in high mmr lobbies unless your a meta spec.

Ret cutoff is a minimum 200 MMR higher.

You’d go to the cart that was nearer to you instead of the one capping next and die 1v3 on cd :dracthyr_shrug:

If you’re having trouble in certain lobbies I would recommend swapping to whichever hero talent you are not currently using, it will throw your opponents off at the very least. templar is generally good vs melee, but don’t be afraid to go herald if you need to kite away frequently if you’re the target. and of course herald will usually be better vs casters, but its a good idea to try templar if you are 0-3 or 0-4.

I thought they made bubble ignore forb because they really try to make changes that incentivize rets to use half their buttons

Is ret hpal still unplayable even with that?

ret still gets outdmged by arms warrior. you know, the spec with 40% ms and 20% perma ms. lol

Oh okay. I mean idk how that’s connected but I’ll try to keep it in mind

Well its connected since ret needs to do 20% more dmg than arms to compensate with the lack of a mortal strike effect. If specs with ms do more dmg than those without, whats the point of playing one without an ms in pvp ? Its not like warrior doesn’t have sanc / sac with their intervene and parry = bubble , bladestorm = freedom, etc. like similar toolkit, just a different application.

Nah.

you didn’t know arms has a perma debuff that reduces healing taken by 20 % ? strongest baseline ms in the game.

It’s the same as most other healing reductions and also not 20% :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I think it compensates by having a 2nd row of healer cooldowns and an arms warrior to play with, no?
