I’ve been working on older achievements to keep me interested in playing WoW, and have been working on long term goals I’ve had for years but kept backlogged for times like Shadowlands. Mostly fishing. I like fishing. I think fishing is more fun than a lot of current content in retail WoW. I like fishing so much that I put it off for this long just so I could enjoy the delayed gratification of reaping my fishy rewards.

I’ve been working on my Nat Pagle rep and have unlocked rank 3 Fishing Hut in my Garrison. I was excited because this provides me another way to get his rep up besides just doing the 3 fish turn-ins in Pandaria. I am a lot closer to maxing out his rep than I thought (I projected I’d max it out in a few months but I can max it out this month if I work on it more) and I was looking at his rewards in anticipation of finally getting my fishing chair

BUT ALAS!

The chair is missing from his reward table. I even flew back out to Angler’s Wharf to see if it was on him there, but no. I looked it up and found out that I am way behind the times, this was removed years ago as a quick fix because people were using the chairs for grieving (apparently they were blocking entrances or something with it? Because it was solid to other players?) and it was never reimplemented. Or apparently it was in 8.1 but it’s not there now.

There are a lot of complaints about every little thing in game. I don’t get upset when things like Mythic raid mounts or challenge mode rewards go away, when they are being removed from the game they are usually announced ahead of time. I understand that the world, as well as the in-game world, are forever changing and I am not afraid of change.

But this is just ridiculous. It was removed as a quick fix to a problem and then was forgotten about. I just think it’s funny that a toy chair was removed because people were using it to grief, and yet there are rampant bots everywhere you go in Shadowlands and people complain and complain about them and nothing is done. Not even a hamfisted hot fix. Nothing.

I know that those two issues are unrelated and I am not trying to conflate the two. I am incredibly frustrated.

TL;DR: They took away my toy because other people were using it to be little stinkers and I WANT IT. I am a simple panda, I just want chair. I want chair. I want now. I no longer wish to fish standing up like a common peasant.

I have tried opening a ticket but the in-game menu just sends you in circles with no clear “Submit Ticket” option. If anyone has a clear list of steps so I may contact an employee either in-game or by e-mail, please let me know. I’m even considering petitioning, I’m even considering joining social media. I feel really strongly about this. I want them to actually fix whatever the problem was, make it so the chair is troll-proof, and reimplement it in the game.

PS - The chair was called Nat’s Fishing Chair.

Edit: I opened a ticket in the websites support page but that took some time too. I’m going to get to the bottom of this transgression!!!

If you don’t get anything positive out of the tickets, theres an alternative on the bmah or that can be purchased from loot cards

I feel you though, people suck

That’s definitely something to look into. Maybe I will have to actually play the BMAH. I guess I was just glad that there was an alternative you could earn in-game, and until it was gone there was no sign it was going anywhere.

Edit: Also, I wonder if that TGC chair will have the same problem that other people had with Nat’s Fishing Chair. The people who already had it claimed that when they used it, it just turns into a floppy fish on the ground. Not a chair!

Yeah, the chair is cool and all, but it’s really all about the Underlight Angler.
Without that, you really aren’t a fisherman. Just a dilettante.

The chair is still in game, I got it a couple months back.

edit: The chair can no longer be used for griefing it has no collision anymore.

Make sure you aren’t filtering items by available/learnable since you don’t have the rep yet so it might not show/be on the 2nd page of this stuff.

I bought mine @ nate in MOP fishing area

I’ll just add that I hate rogues now because they made it so we couldn’t use goblin gliders in dungeons/raids (they were using them to skip stuff to get their artifact back in legion, so blizzard removed the ability to use them in dungeons/raids) :frowning:

I am working on getting the Angler, but I wanted to get the chair so I could sit WHILE I farmed for the Angler. If I can’t get my dang chair I’ll just get the Angler before finishing Nat Pagle rep.

I know that grieving is not the same as griefing but when I was typing it, spellcheck said it was spelled wrong and I just rolled with it.

And now, if I am being truly honest, I cannot bear to read through my wall of text to fix the post. It is what it is.
