As a rogue in Vanilla, once my lockpicking was at max, I used to stand on a rock near the Orgrimmar bank and offer to open lock boxes for free. I RPed the whole thing, like a carnival barker, and had a blast!
“Come learn what treasures or trash lie hidden within those pesky containers!
I shall reveal them for you free of charge!
Come one come all!”
And while I expected nothing for the service, many players would force coin upon me. I honestly did this for over an hour at times, and had so much fun interacting with others.
And THIS is the sort of thing that draws me back!
Be nice or you’ll pay the price!..but dont get to friendly, or you might get lice.
Wow that seems nice, i kinda want to be part of this lmao
Used to do that too on my rogue, never asked for compensation. But players would tip me anyways. Had the gold for my level 40 mount in like a week.
Being a jerk on these forums has no repercussions. Not to mention, you can’t join a guild here to talk with like-minded others.
The OP and many others forget what it means to choose social companions.
That said, people will gravitate towards those they get along with; there were plenty of toxic PvP guilds back in the day, and pretending there wasn’t is redundant (not saying you are, just a general statement.)
Ninja looters get barred from groups,
Nice people join nice guilds.
It’s a process, but that’s why communities matter so much more than current-day WoW devs seem to understand.
Most modern players are probably used to much worse harrasment simply from the fact that MOBAs are popular now.
we were not nice to them the first time and we hit 14 million so…
Agree 100%. Community will make or break this game and if people are super toxic, the game will not be fun. If you want to be toxic, camp and kill players on the other faction =P
