I am constantly kicked from WOW for about 5 minutes and 20 seconds. This has happened about ten times in a single hour. I have tried all known solutions on the forums, and nothing has worked. I have created a tracert.txt file and pathping.txt file if needed. Is there a “for sure” fix, or is this just something that’s happening all over?
Maybe try doing a full UI reset? It sounds like something with a strong chance to be addon related. Maybe it’s trying to execute some kind of command too many times in too short of a time period and the server is giving you das boot.
Already tried that. Didn’t help. Still kicked at 5 minutes and 19 seconds. I have reset the router, IP address, cache, deleted all addons and add on program. Updated all firmware, files, graphics, antivirus. Included WOW in trusted program section of antivirus. I have done everything the forums have suggested with no luck.
I had a similar issue a long time ago, but it was exactly every 8 hours that I was getting disconnected. I changed to a different router and the issue disappeared. Guess the router was beginning to fail somehow.
Would be something to try to see if it fixes your issue.
The issue i had was caused by the local cable company trying to download updated firmware for the modem, when it failed the darn modem kicked me off wow repeatedly. I had no idea they were doing this till I called for service and the repairman said he just force updated it manually with his ipad thingy. We still have disconnects but they have been rare and random. I think the modem firmware was updated because there are a few internet speed choices with this cable subscription now.
Maybe it’s a DHCP IP lease issue on your router. Different routers have different defaults and if the re-leasing time is too long, the game might see it as a disconnect. You’ll have to peck through the menus to find it or look it up, but it’s usually under a section called something along the lines of “network” and usually within a subsection called “DHCP server.” Granted, I doubt it’s set to something silly like 319 seconds, but it’s worth checking(although 5min is 300 seconds and maybe the extra 20 seconds is the max timeout delay the client will allow before DCing you).
Here’s an example of the setting on my router:

Maybe try jacking that setting up real high and retest it to see. There are also quite a few other things that can cause these types of DCs like a bad network card driver or some kind of other driver crash on your system.
There are also other router settings you might check into like DOS/FLOOD attack settings. Some games send/receive too many packets per second and can trip the protection.
But if I had to take a guess, it’s a crashing driver. If you’ve tested the game addon free and have done a full UI reset, there’s probably something going on in your system. There have been a lot of Windows updates lately and it wouldn’t surprise me to see a driver being a problem. You can google around how to use the event viewer to check for driver crashes. Check it right after the game DCs.
