Being held hostage in arena

This is just something bitter rogues do to get a little revenge before they die.

Just have to communicate and throw down as many roots and aoe as possible

I do agree though that they shouldn’t be allowed to prolong a game for more than a few minutes doing this.

If the rogue is good enough he can stay away for several minutes

I just think it should be a banable offense if you can get banned for stay on a flag in AV you should be able to get banned for this at least a warning. Other solution is has been mentioned allow the sights to last longer and reduce their CDS which i think the best solution

What? Is this a thing?

Yeah, in classic they actioned people for afk/non-participation in bgs.

They are not going to go in and kick him out , grammar sir

If rogues start getting bans for trolling like this…
I’m probably looking at some upcoming criminal charges filed against me in Irvine for what I do to other players in random bgs.

It ain’t trolling, though.

Stealth should have time limits in arena, otherwise they’re just doing prot/heals and aug/heals and arbitrarily extending matches trying to win by default.

Anyone who disagrees likes anime.

What’s wrong with anime :dracthyr_a1:

You keep trying to ruin my fun I’m gonna lock you in a small room with Swole and a jar of JIF.

Anime is anti David Lee Roth.

So playing defense is now a bannable offense? That sounds dumb

Turning AVs into 30min+ turtles was one of the only things I enjoyed doing on my SoD hunter (not classic but I haven’t played classic in like 4 or 5 years)

No, but being AFK is.

But you kind of have to be since you’re waiting for the other team to get there

Maybe if you’ve been defending something for 15 minutes without interacting with anybody the thing doesn’t need defending.

Also as somebody who’ll steal towers the people sitting in them are afk/tabbed 90% of the time. :dracthyr_tea: So don’t give me the “umm actually they’re being punished for playing the game”.

Maybe just make a 2 minute internal timer for being out of combat that automatically ends the arena? It’s just hard to make a rule against something that isn’t an exploit or violation. I mean, it’s morally garbage as far as game etiquette is concerned but I’ve never met a rogue that ever cared about that. But stealth is a built in ability and they were actively moving to grab the stones when they popped up. So…

Appreciate all the responses. Y’all take care and watch out for those sneaky rogues.

I’m one of those people that got banned for this in TBC classic. I had a separate, fresh tbc classic account. I was soft-afking BGs, would tab in, run around, die, not really do anything, press buttons here and there but still somewhat control and move my char while playing retail.

Soft-afked less than 10 BGs cause it was so boring, think I did max 8 BGs, and that fresh account with 0 previous issues caught a 1 or 2 week ban, can’t remember I am pretty sure it was 2 weeks. In the last BG I played I remember at least 3 teammates malding, following me around and spamming in chat to report me.

Completely unhinged 2 week ban for “non-participation” over some boring unrated content. honestly couldn’t believe it. meanwhile over half of classic was buying gold (and still are) no issues.
