Need to make my way back to Ironforge to drop off an important message, after all there are no cell phones in Azeroth so going by foot is the only means of communication in The Eastern Kingdoms. That’s no big deal, maybe I’ll run into some interesting people along the way there, wonder what’s happening over there. Is IF crowded at all? We’ll see, exploring is always a fun thing to do.
This MMO element is non-existent in retail, there’s no longer any need to travel somewhere. I think forcing players to visit a battlemaster again would be a good start. LFR, if we should even keep such an anti-social system, you should force players to visit the summoning stone to queue up.
Retail needs to be an MMO again.

reading descriptive text that tells you where to go giving a sense of adventure >>>>>> a mark on the map for exactly where you need to go removing all sense of adventure

I gotten items out of island expeditions that sent me to all kinds of different zones. One sent me to Pandaria. Another to Booty Bay. I think one sent me to Tenaris. One also sent me to Searing Gorge.
This DOES exist in retail.

Aren’t you forced to go to Borealis to queue up for Islands though? I mean you’re semi-making my point.

Yes. You’re forced to go places in retail. You’re making MY point.

So why don’t we apply that to LFR and battle grounds???
LFR shouldn’t exist. Raids shoulder have two-tiers of difficulty. What we call heroic today, and mythic. That’s it. If you cannot do it on heroic, you don’t deserve to do it.

I just got quests sending me to Hyjal and Val’sharah. Forcing me to travel the world.
What are you not getting???

I agree, and due to the uselessness of LFR it looks like Blizzard is moving away from LFR rewarding players with BiS loot. But this can of worms was already opened and you’ll need to deal with people QQ about their LFR being removed.
Or is your point that it needs to be inconvenient to travel? I shouldn’t be able to fly, or use a portal to shorten the trip.
Blizzard removed portals to make the world feel bigger. What did the player base do? They complained.

It’s not really the same thing TBH. Flight path + portal to somewhere then hopping on a flying mount for 2 minutes then using my Hearthstone on its 9 minute cooldown is not the same thing. Going from stormwind to ashenvale as alliance on classic? Man, that’s a trip. God forbid the quest sends you back somewhere on the other continent and you have to use your one hour hearthstone.
Sure does make you appreciate the flight whistle on live.

They could remove LFR and the Dungeon finder tomorrow. I wouldn’t care.

That’s part of it, I just tried taking a shortcut through the big lake called The Loch. Turns out the local Crocolisks gather there to mate and I just got eaten alive. Makes me think Azeroth is a dangerous place to go hiking in.

Well, I hope you didn’t poison the crocolisks.
There’s a ton of calories in a freshly killed human body. They’re just trying to survive.
Blizzard required all players to use ground mounts for the first 2/3 of BFA. An easy achievement was required to unlock flying. Players complain.
People don’t want inconvenient travel. Personally, I don’t care. I enoyed being on a ground mount for the first 2/3 of BFA. I enjoyed in in Legion. I didn’t mind the achievement. They could have no fly zones throughout the world, and I’d be happy with that. Give me an excuse to use my ground mount.
But don’t pretend that people wouldn’t complain about it.

LFR is the only raid content some of us can do. AND . . .in Cataclysm LFR wasn’t anywhere near as anti-social. People talked, set out feasts . . .we did LFR in small guild groups. Players talked in LFG dungeons, too.
In my opinion, the complete lack of communication these days is on the game designers. We used to need each other so we talked. Buffs mattered, food mattered, working together mattered. The developers REMOVED the significance of buffs and feasts and mage food and strategy.
The lack of socializing in WoW is square on the devs. They have neglected every aspect of the social game.

It wouldn’t effect my game play personally but I know there are people ot would negatively effect so for their sake I hope they leave the que able options as they are. Them existing isn’t hurting Mt game play at all.

I don’t envy blizzard at all. People will complain about literally everything.
