Being a homeowner in WOW is a big mistake

Not everyone wants to sit in town and see 10-20 longbois and 10-20 tmog mounts and hear trade chat spam all day.

It has crafting stations even. Still see tons of people in the cities using the crafting stations and other amenities in the cities. Also see lots of people RPing all over the place too, for those that keep saying housing will kill all roleplaying.

WoW killed its own RPing, by spending years trying to whale the M+, highend raiding, and Esports crowd.

Now it’s an MMORPG that has a split player base of the old TBC-WotLK remnant hanging on by a thread, and a dwindling post Legion influx that is coming to realize WoW was never for them and their rush to be the best mentality fueled by borrowed power grinds and increasingly difficult raid environments.

Housing isn’t going to kill WoW’s social aspect, it did it to itself by betraying what made it a good open world sandbox MMORPG. All those innovative things LIKE player housing we could’ve had sooner without Kotick at the wheel as CEO, cutting every financial corner and tying the creative hands.

This is pretty true. WoW’s RP community thrives in spite of everything Blizzard does, not because of it. Blizzard is much more interested in keeping the hardcore min max players around than anything. Evem PvPers get jack squat in comparison usually
