Being a homeowner in WOW is a big mistake

“This change will lead to killing the game”

People say this about every single thing now.

“Have Delves give more Crests” - “Oh that will kill M+”
“Have more loot drop” - “Oh that will make people unsub”
“Add this new feature” - “Plz no, I hate change, that will kill the game”

Which is why, when I RP, I am not an adventurer. My gnome monk, Stanley Shadocog, left New Tinkertown at the very young age of 43 in search of new places to conduct his research on emotion and the tech to stabilize it. He found himself in Pandaria, living among the Grummles of Kun Lai Summit. For years, he helped them caravan from town to town, and learning more about the anger which had recently awakened.

He has committed his life to defending the local villagers, and helping change their lives through technology. With Garrosh gone, N’Zoth defeated, and no new threats to Pandaria, he has returned “home” to his house in Dawn’s Blossom, thankful for the heroes who helped save him, and his people. At last he was at peace until news of his older sister’s passing during a battle in Mechagon. Now, he finds himself returning to the Eastern Kingdoms in search of answers… and a new place to call home.

I make my own story and keep my RP and PvE separate. Then again, I have been roleplaying since 1987 and have that skill set. There is nothing wrong with player housing. It is not tied to PvE or PvP, will be nothing like Garrisons, completely optional, and if anything will keep casuals like me busy so the M+, Raid, and PvP crowd can go do their own thing.

I don’t care if it costs us 10 raid tiers, some of us want housing more than we want anything else. PvE and PvP have gotten it ALL. It is high time the RolePlayers got value for their money.

Wah wah wah doom gloom doom wah wah way

Damn I am gone for 2 days and it’s still the same tired complaints.

You literally have no information on player housing and you have no idea how it will be implemented so you can not possibly know if it’s a good idea, bad idea, or just an idea. Maybe just wait and get a teeny tiny bit of information before being all doom and gloom???

I just want a house so I can take out several HELOCs to buy all the store mounts.

This is pretty true. WoW’s RP community thrives in spite of everything Blizzard does, not because of it. Blizzard is much more interested in keeping the hardcore min max players around than anything. Evem PvPers get jack squat in comparison usually

Two games I can name where the housing was actually really cool and just a way to simply to display your in game achievements and boss kills with trophies on the walls. Lord of the Rings Online… Wildstar. The housing in Wildstar was actually epic and involved lots of creative ways to build. People were making skateparks in their housing plots and used the hoverboard mounts like skateboards. It was pretty awesome and something I really miss.

Path of Exile has player housing too, I love it in that because it’s off to the side and separate from the game, but people still need to come into your house to trade with you. It’s chef’s kiss perfect.

it’s the same old schtick , they sell you a house in the country and then they want to upgrade your natural gas and install water and sewer for like a complete whole extra house payment.

Make sure it has a duleing flag on the porch so nobody else can go in to MY house!

I personally think player housing isn’t a great idea, but it’s kinda silly to say “it won’t work because of X”.

Blizzard are innovators. I’m sure they’ll find a completely new and novel way to make people hate player housing.

uhhhhh you’re not supposed to be having conversations in trade chat to begin with

Different games, different systems of housing. It is not a mistake, only a great addition.

Or love it so much that we would rather spend raid night decorating cause less stress.

Dunno how they do it where you’re from, but we don’t do “positivity” here.

let ppl be happy, damn

Sadly, I am forced to be positive. If I told half of these kids (yes I am that old) what I really think of them, I would have to use another fan site for chatting, because my 2nd ban would be permanent.

I have all chat channels turned off in-game. Housing would change nothing for me.

So … garrisons?

So what would hardcore housing be?

Hmm … have I actually interacted with anyone yet in this expansion in a city?

RPers are going to ruin it with nightclubs. Qoute me.

Also, you guys are actually having social interactions in the game? Nobody talks in mine. Like at all ever at any point.
