I wish casters animations didn’t sheath their weapons and instead used them to cast. For instance, if a mage is using a staff, let the spell animate at the tip of the staff instead of the hands. if it’s a one hander and an off hand, the normal animation could be used but holding say the sword in your main hand behind you and your off hand item in front of you, then ‘swinging’ the sword forward as the spell is cast.
i guess i just enjoy transmoging my gear to something i like and then in a fight having that stuff feel useless. sword sits unused on your belt, off hand item isn’t visible at all. staff just sits on your back. i want to WIELD my weapons, not wear them because the stats are necessary.

Agreed. It bothers me that the elaborate staves that they make are nothing more than thin totems on the backs of my casters.

Got to agree. I feel like WoW is like the only game I can think of, at least off the top of my head, where casters aren’t using their weapons to help cast.
In game that would be some BE with a stick on her back slamming her fist into the ground.
Edit: And then complaining she broke a nail. Pfft, Blood Elves.

I’d consider anything an improvement over the current affliction Warlock casting animations

100% agree, for both casters AND monks. Always think it’s odd how casters have a really cool stave…on their back and they only use it to swing at something that gets right in their face. SO many fantastic ways to use a stave, holding it out, slamming into the ground, swing it around like a bo staff(also part of what monks should do).
They could hold it out in different ways depending on the power being cast, the tip or the whole thing could glow etc.
Not to say I don’t like some of the warlock animations with their hands, but some powers should involve the staff for sure.
Same can be said for swords, axes, daggers, guns, bows and crossbows. More power should flow through the weapons, in my opinion, and we should see it before hitting, firing whatever.
Imagine them trying to anchor point different spells to all different weapons on different character models, yea won’t happen lol.
Most games don’t even do that, they use a central point for all spells and just use basic animations for the weapons.
What do you think this is, Dragon age?
Blizzard is just a small indy company, they dont have the manpower or funding to pull something like this off!
TBH, the anchor points are already there with weapon enchantment points.
I couldn’t agree more.
It drives me crazy that my warlock quickly puts his wand away while casting.
What’s the point of the wand other than a stat stick?
My mistweaver monk’s staff is just a permanent fixture on her back. (Even when she’s DPSing)
If I got into a life-or-death fight, I wouldn’t quickly stash away my baseball bat and take a swing with my fists…
I agree with this post but what I don’t get is one of my mages has a off-hand lantern. What do I do with that shine it in the mobs eyes and blind them for 10 seconds? lol
Lets all sing Blinded by the light…….

I’m pretty sure this is one of those universally liked ideas. I’ve never heard of someone being against this idea.
I agree that they should change the casting animations I am a strong christian and I noticed that the make undead casting animation is the devil worshipping symbol
I don’t remember what the animation was like in Origins bc I played a rogue but god damn DA2 and DA:I have some of my absolute favourite caster animations. Very satisfying to play mage in both.
edit: didnt realize this was a necro because of the dude above oop
