Befouled Water Globe not dropping from Tideress

On WoW Classic Season of Discovery I am trying to obtain the Befouled Water Globe for Tideress at Mystral Lake in Ashenvale to start the quest for The Befouled Element.

I have killed Tideress 5-7 times and never have seen the globe drop.

I am not in a raid group, I have seen others loot the same kill I am in a group with and get the Befouled Water Globe while I do not see it.

I may have looted the globe and deleted it before accepting the quest.

Please help.

According to wowhead comments “You must be on the quest “Stonetalon Standstill” to be able to receive this item.”

I can confirm this to be accurate. I too killed Tideress several spawn cycles with no drop. I went and picked up the quest Stonetalon Standstill and she dropped it the first kill after I ran back over.

What if you already completed Stonetalon Standstill? Is it then impossible to complete this quest?
