Before tbc

Would it be worth it to lvl. A mage before the shadow priest I want to have for tbc, or am I better off just for going the Mage and just jumping right into the priest.

I figure as long as he’s 60 before tbc launch I can run and mc for the eye of shadow for that staff just to have it for vanity reasons.

Thoughts

Given that TBC hasn’t been announced yet, it’s hard to say.

Maybe wait until Friday?

Absolutely! You can sell boosts and earn your flying mount gold!

I figure I can do sm boost are the Mara boost or the zg ones tough to get a handle on ?

If you’re world levelling then id suggest mage because AoE levelling is quick and in TBC the AoE cap would hinder that.

I basically have atm have a 60 warrior he’s raiding naxx I got him a hand of rag I’m pretty set I was looking to change it up and get ready for tbc. My list of toons I was thinking of doing is either mage , priest or pally the two being healers. I just figure the mage might be able to help with gold in case I want to take advantage of a boost or something

idk to be honest. I only did the ZG zombie strat while leveling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBx8xOh_Qro.

It looks really easy, and once you get it down it is, but I’d recommend starting from level 44 if you’re learning. It was a few hours of frustrating deaths trying to figure out the reset points at 42 to me.

I tried doing some SM pulls, but I think those are pretty hard, and gear dependent - I don’t really play this mage, so my gear isn’t very good.

Recently I’ve been leveling a new warrior, and I paid gold for some of my first boosts: about 6 runs in Mara, and 5 in ZG.

The Mara ones look interesting! And I think it’s the most common. Something nice about it is, if you are paying gold for it, you also get to loot, which can end up being a net profit, if some saleable BoEs drop. In my case, as a skinner, without any decent BoE drops, I made back about 80% of the cost of the boosts.

I was surprised when I inspected the mage who was doing the ZG boosts, because his gear was not very good at all. Those runs were 25g/each, and there were two of us each paying. The runs were pretty fast, but I did 5 and that only got me about 3/4 of a level at level 56.

I suspect that if a TBC Classic announcement is made this weekend, we’ll see a lot of returning players wanting to level up, and being a mage who is able to help with that may be quite lucrative.

I don’t think so tbh.

I’m going to wait for tbc and then level when it hits, unless you’re in big rush to be among first in doing content, sure you can level ahead, but there’s still no guarantee you’ll be able to copy your character or if servers will progress.

Blizzcon in 4 days, wait and see.

I wouldn’t recommend playing a character you don’t expect to enjoy for its own sake, no matter what benefits it might provide to your “real character.”

warlock op instead

TBC is more than likely going to be it’s own thing & will have no connection with the current classic servers. So leveling a character in prep of TBC is probably pointless.

TBC is more than likely going to be a continuation of Classic and be directly connected to the current classic servers. So leveling a character in prep of TBC is probably a really good idea.

Perhaps wait the whole 4 days from now till they either do or do not announce a TBC?

Leveling from levels 20 thru 60 was shortened in TBC, requiring less XP to level up while also getting more XP rewarded from quest turn ins. Also more quests were added, like in Dustwallow Marsh. Might want to wait for TBC to start leveling.
