The option to reset my profession specialization points sounds great except for the note about losing recipes. My engineer has learned quite a few of the extra schematics through the prototype to notes mechanism. Are those reset? My alchemist has made quite a few flask and potion discoveries through the experimentation mechanism. Do those reset? Is it only the recipes tied specifically to specialty trees, such as tailoring gloves, cloaks, or leatherworking going into mail or leather options?
I’m sure someone has already tested this and found the answer, but I haven’t seen it.
That said, I think you should be safe on Alchemy as there are no discovery restrictions tied to the KP trees.
Engineering may be cause for concern depending on how they coded it. Unless you are really in a time crunch I recommend letting someone else be the guinea pig to figure it out.

I tested it with one of my Engineers.
All recipes learned by Prototype remained after resetting KP. Things like Filmless Camera.
All recipes learned by straight KP were lost until I reopened that wheel. Things like Cogwheels and Guns.
Recipes learned from Comprehensively Organized Ideas remained in my recipe list. Wrists, Profession Gear, and Goggles. However, there appears to be a bug with these items because until I relearned the appropriate tree in Engineered Equipment, some were greyed out and would not let me attempt to craft them while others were still craftable before relearning the applicable wheel. Once the wheel was reactivated, I could craft all the recipes associated with that wheel.
