Been thinking about m+ gear progression

as everyone knows, scrubs are having a harder time in keys, scrubbing it up in 2s and getting scrubbed down by scrubs feelsbad all around.

so I say… make all gear “awakened” as in 1 to 14 or w.e.
and make a token exchange system at like 1 to 10. so you can trade your 10 whelping crests for one of higher value.

so a scrub can grind 2s all day, and eventually get that myth 4/4 equivalent gear a month down the road, while a good player can like run 1 dungeon at like a 10, and get that same gear.

like I mean if a scrub is willing to grind it out forever, they should be rewarded for that.

Or they could just get better if they want better gear, or stay in the content thats designed for them.

No need to fix what’s not broken

The most trivial content should never have access to the best rewards while the content is current.

thats the wrong take though “gear” is not a reward, its a tool to get the reward.
everyone knows endgame is transmogs and titles and rare drop and season fomo.

gear comes and goes and should not be thought of as “the reward”.

like you can have full mythic gear, are you gonna get the cutting edge title? probably not.
by allowing more people to have access to this “good gear”, you widen the pool of people capable of doing endgame content, which would be healthier for the game.

some people are statistically locked behind being unable to do such content not because of skill but because just a raw stat barrier to overcome. I’ve seen people that are really lazy at wanting to do anything other than pvp, but are more than capable of doing a mythic raid.

now those people, who would no longer really need to put in the time to gear up for a mythic raid, can now mythic raid under the suggested system.

Gear is a reward.

The currently system was designed specifically to prevent that. You shouldn’t get BiS gear by running easy content.

but it’s not though. its a tool to get a “reward”.

It’s a tool to get more rewards, sure, but it’s still a reward.

not really. in this day and age of buying funnels, its most definitely not a reward, its a tool you bought.

A reward you bought.

WoW is a gear progression game.

If you want to buy carries for your rewards then be my guest.

do you consider going to the local home hardware to buy a tool you need to build your deck “a reward you bought”?

What deck are you building in WoW?

Yes, it’s a reward that you earned from going to work. Said reward is a tool that can be used to build another reward, a deck.

so if you found money on the ground, and used it to buy a tool, its a reward?
if your parent died and left you money, its a reward?
“I got a reward for my parent dying” is kinda… yeah.

Man. You really stretching with these fringe hypotheticals to make your analogy work.

If your analogy cant stand on its own, its not a good analogy.

all it takes is one example of a falsity to disprove an entire argument. so its not really reaching.

Ok.

Lets go with that line of thought.

I was rewarded gear for M+ last week.

I just disproved your entire argument that all gear are just tools, and not rewards.

You stated gear is only a tool. I showed one example where that is false. Therefor, per your rules, your entire argument has been disproven.

It’s a bad idea and you’re using bad examples to justify it. Do better content if you want better rewards.
