Been seeing some whispers about tbc server

would anyone else be interested in a fresh tbc server? i feel like there are too many versions of wow rn but once sod ends why not make a few tbc servers? rppvp, pve and pvp. just make 3 of them so it will still have some sort of population on each server. just a thought

server should default pvE. players who wish to pvp in the open world can just type /pvp and flag up.

I think at this point, people would accept even one TBC Era Realm, regardless of type…

Honestly curious as to what’s so great about tbc?

Have you never done the raids? I’ll admit TBC raids were pretty fun(and pretty memorable, especially your first illidan kill!) , but it’s one and done for me.

But honestly TBC just felt like the bridge between what vanilla and wotlk is. Like the bridge between two complete different games (vanilla and retail) and personally because of that TBC is mid.

Like it has a few cool “on-hit” weapons like vanilla, but wpvp is trash because flying mounts, and it ends up being very raid loggy. Raid gear is bad in pvp too, so even more total seperation between the player base. TBC is like a worse version of WOTLK. WOTLK improved a lot of the negatives, but it lost all of it’s “vanilla” charm as well. Homogenized gear, no interesting on-hits, consumes and trinkets nearly irrelevant. Etc etc.

Vanilla is like the original recipe.
Wotlk is a complete different recipe.
TBC is like throwing both recipes together and getting a not so great result.

TBC arena is also the worst version. Windfury ret, and mace stuns is just despicable gameplay, hunters aren’t allowed to que, and if you hate rogue mage, i have some bad news for you.

PvP servers are fine if blizz actually looks at griefing tickets with graveyard camping. Cause you know its against ToS to hunt down and always prevent a player from playing the game.

The thing about this is that it assumes people will play the ones that are available if the one that they want isn’t. It quaintly sets aside the fact that they will just not play.

This is likely why you’re hearing whispers of a TBC server. The folks who just wanna play TBC are getting fed up of Blizzard not giving them a place to play the game they want and are now looking to make their own experience. Why Blizzard is pushing their playerbase to non-official solutions is beyond me.

Honestly, I think War Mode is something Blizzard did well in retail. I’m not sure that would fit with Era but it works fairly well in retail.

i enjoy raiding in tbc as a pali tank and love seal swapping in pvp as ret. its what i would roll personally. i would enjoy a fresh tbc pvp and pve server. that would be pretty fun imo and may even bring a few folks back. time will tell i guess

which paragraph did you find that under in the ToS?

Like, PvP on a PvP server, but see…

See 1.C.xi.2

Continuously GY camping someone would defintely fall under…

I don’t think humans look at the reports anymore though, so you’d probably have to get your entire guild to report someone before Blizzard looked into it, then it would depend on whether or not it got to a CS Rep who wanted to enforce or not.

Personally, I think if you roll on a PvP server you open yourself up to this kind of thing and that’s a choice you make when you create that character. At the same time though, there’s a big difference between ganking someone and camping their corpse just to prevent them from playing the game.

I think some folks can’t really put two and two together in order to realize that if you chase everybody out of the game, you won’t have anybody else to play with and will sit around complaining about “dead game”.

Technically they could just convert some of the classic servers over to tbc right? Or would that cause problems with those that might still be on the server wanting to stay in classic?

I wouldn’t exactly call it a “whisper” when you can find other topics about it on the main page of the forums…

smart a** rogue. typical.

I mean that’s the last thing I’d call it if I had to point out the obvious, sir. What names could I call you after not taking two seconds to look over the forums, repeating a topic we have other threads on, and referring to the topic like it’s some legend only heard of whispered in the alleys of Stormwind by people so shady one can’t be too sure if they’re real or just shadows? No need to be mean to the rogue. Especially when I’m all for a TBC server

Yes, but tbc has a few minor problems. The group wide buff meta was a bit painful to plan around and eots was bad.

So we can go back to spamming LF shamans and tanks. Locks being 1 button, mages going oom in 2 sec and basically unplayable without certain gear, consumes, profession and group assignment. hunters running around just destroying everything in pvp.

Tanks hiding behind corners during pulls and constantly fighting for ever inch of aggro while doing absolutely no damage or having any fun. Having to farm pvp gear just so you can tank on a druid.

Having to make arena teams.

Tbc was absolute trash.

Ummmmm nooo thanks.

They don’t do anything with their lives but level characters anyway so of course.

Blizzard would agree with you.

If you chose to create your character on a PvP realm, Game Masters will not address situations where you are repeatedly killed by the opposite faction. This includes situations that may be considered dishonorable such as corpse camping or killing players well below your level.

Personally, would love a TBC era server. Or short of that, a TBC pre-patch server.
