When you’re in camera mode, as soon as you turn your angle the slightest bit or move at all, the camera bar goes away and you can’t take pictures. It makes it unnecessarily tedious to complete as you keep having to click the camera to get the camera bar back. Almost every time when you click the camera again, the bar doesn’t come back and it gives you a “you can’t do this right now” error.
Exiting the game seems to fix it, but as soon as I mount up to go to other bees, the issue pops up again forcing me to exit the game again and re-log. This is maddening!
Other quests like this in prior seasons with camera objectives didn’t have this issue. Please fix as a QoL improvement.

Full agreement here, the janky camera made these quests unnecessarily tedious.
TBH, I have hated every version of what I will call “vehicle quests” that Blizzard has ever injected into the game. The camera is just the latest in a long history of bad coding.
During WotLK, I never heard anyone praise the dragon mechanics in The Oculus or The Eye of Eternity, nor did anyone praise the vehicle mechanics in Ulduar. The rest of Ulduar, sure, that was praised, but nothing but groans over that first stage leading to the rest.
Then there are the other sort of vehicle quests that make you play through some crap as an NPC with a crippled toolkit. When they aren’t a dumpster fire, like He Was My Student in Shadowlands, they’re just tedious and unfun, like the Scouting Report quests in MoP.
The S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera toy added in WoD seems to have been built on the same code as the dragon mounts in the Oculus. And the camera quests we’ve had since Dragonflight are only slightly better, but aiming them and getting targets to register has never been anything but annoying, tedious, and unfun. This camera steers like a boat with a broken rudder.

Meanwhile for me, after 3 pictures during Bee Roll, suddenly it says I can’t do that. I don’t have the spell. I can’t close the camera bar. Dropping quest keeps the camera bar that I can’t use. Had to log out and hopefully when I log back in it will be gone again. So I will just go ahead and wait to continue on this broken quest until it’s been “fixed”.
This is just so frustrating and annoying, im so tired of constantly having to exit game to do these camera quests
I definitely had a lot of glitches with this quest (among many others in this questline and the campaign in general), frequently the action buttons would just not appear. I did find that often-times it seemed like I wouldn’t be able to capture anything, but even at a janky angle it would work. As long as the bee lights up like it does on those photo world quests, it would count even if I wasn’t really facing it. I think I was able to turn a bit with my mouse, but I don’t really know what the trick was.
