I can sleep when I’m dead.
…wait
that’s the spirit!
My bed is giving me back pain and it isn’t getting any better. Looking to upgrade my bed to a queen when we move into the new house but that realistically isn’t gonna happen for at least a year.
So y’know, I’d love to get a good night’s sleep but old bed plus medication that prevents me from sleeping well equals “oof”.
i used to sleep horribly, really bad insomnia
but for some strange reason i sleep fairly normally now.
perhaps my bed has gone from the stage of being uncomfortable due to age, to being perfectly molded for my horrific formless shape
hopefully the year goes by quickly! getting new beds is like… the best thing?
I have back issues and I find that sleeping in a recliner with proper lumbar support is helpful. My wife and I plan on getting a fancy king sized sleep number bed once we finish remodeling our house, and hopefully that’ll let me sleep in a bed again, but unfortunately the timeframe on that one is “eventually”.
My partner and I are upgrading to a king. Between him and the cats, I have the smallest, saddest sliver. We were also going to wait til we moved to a bigger place but I’m like, nah, who needs two night stands?
My back is a wreck. .-.
And then you get to have your bed in a corner like a teenager!
For sure, hopefully getting a new bed will improve my quality of sleep enough since I can’t really go off my meds too easily (adhd yeehaw).
noooo… I don’t -have- to. But maybe it can be his turn to have no room on the bed >:(
Everyone wants to be in the middle and then there’s me, hanging on by a shoulder all night. ;-;
My sheets that I enjoy sleeping on very much are the correct size for my bed but the material they’re made out of keeps sliding around and pops off the corners.
My wife used to get really bad back pain before we bought our memory foam mattress when we moved in together.
Best decision we’ve ever made
I currently sleep on a futon, but my chosen position for it prevents me from folding it out; which actually suits me fine as it’s more convenient to sleep on it like a couch. Unfortunately it has begun to fall apart; a bunch of the springs and some of the foam have become displaced, making a sort of pit, and the leather has torn in places, exposing the interior.
Despite its problems I rarely have too many problems with it, besides feeling like I have to be a bit more mindful of how I get up.
On a partially related note I can’t imagine how long its been since I’ve slept in a proper bed, with pillows and blankets. Prior to the futon I slept on a loveseat, one like a small couch, before a bedbug infestation caused me have to sleep in my computer chair. Funnily enough I actually had a bed as well at the time, but simply preferred the loveseat; mainly because it was in a better position relative to my computer.
I’ll never forgive those little parasites.
I sleep shrouded in pillows and blankets. Strangely enough, my head is never on a pillow. They elevate my head too much! Flat land is better for Sinthead…
I need a new bed. California King in the States, budget Queen from when I first got to Australia here. Problem is I start looking at mattresses online and all the opinions crush my brain.
I will recommend these things time and time again. Put that on a cheap, terrible mattress and it will change your life.
Pillow between legs. Quality mattress with mattress topper. 5g melatonin, a chapter of some dense reading, blast the AC. Just try to not fall asleep.
Sleep is so dope.
I have trouble sleeping on beds now. I always like the ground more. A nice couch, sure. Beds/mattresses/futons are just painful and hurt my back and uncomfortable now though.
I have really terrible back issues and my physical therapist finally suggested I invest in this lumbar support pillow for my back. It’s a wedge that puts me at an angle when I sleep and it has made my life so much better.
