Because None of us know anymore

Before you read any further, know this isn’t a “most OP” or something post and I am WELL aware that what’s fun for one person may be different for another. That being said, I am interested in hearing WHY you enjoy said class/spec to see where my thoughts take me with said information. I am also aware I can “make class trials and see” but 1) I run Elvui and don’t feel like trying to set something up quickly/spend time investing in setting a new UI up or something and 2) class trials only allow you to try certain specs initially and even after reading and sorting out the entire spellbook once the other specs are unlocked, it only does so much for an opinion by smacking a target dummy whether it’s for 20 seconds or 20 minutes.
TL;DR looking for why you think a class/spec is enjoyable and how the rotation feels, idc about numbers or outputs just the feel of the spec in terms of not getting bland/etc.

What are your most enjoyable classes/why? I have been running ranged and am looking for something melee and possibly a tank. I KNOW BFA IS IN A sht spot and tanks as well as a lot of other classes are kind of fcked right now, but humor me. I am looking for a melee and/or tank spec that I will HAVE FUN WITH. I don’t care about numbers or dps, just how enjoyable their kit is. I haven’t been able to level a paladin past 45 because it just gets bland for me. I’m not particularly interested in a DH as they seem super overpopularized and played, and they were fun for me while it lasted. Rogues are meh but for some reason I enjoy feral, but mained a boomy for most this expac and rolling feral and not playing the other specs feelsbad, aside from guardian (if it’s even fun at all?). Blood dk I know is good but the whole thought of losing so much health to heal back most has gotten old for me, so there’s some “bad blood” between the spec and I…

Well, I’ve been running three primary classes since MoP that I enjoy for different reasons and different playstyles.

Hunter - This is my raid class. I like the generally high DPS. I like that I can sit back at range and see everything going on in the group. I also like that I can whip out a tank for solo content or even in an emergency if the player tank goes down. I’ll never forget using my pet to tank the Dragons of Nightmare on an LFR Emerald Nightmare run one day.

Rogue - One word; stealth. This is my main solo content class. It’s great being able to sneak past mobs and pick off just the ones I want or snag a chest. It also makes being a dual gatherer much easier and quicker. The utility of pickpocketing and lockpicking also adds a lot of unique flavor. Too bad Blizzard has been kinda lax this xpac with good content for those systems.

Paladin - It’s a great combo of heavy armor, decent DPS, and solid healing. Even if I stay in ret spec I can still contribute in a variety of ways to a group. The combat rotation combined with the Ashbringer transmog really feels like a solid frontline soldier. It’s one of visually favorite classes.

PS: DH = Batman. That is all.

I appreciate the tips! Maybe I’ll try powering through the lackluster spells on pallies at lower levs to see how they are. I agree they are, but they’re also the most played class and I feel like they’re a bit overpowered at the moment in world exploring/solo pvp encounters and such, but I guess I should put my prejudices aside and check them out…

I’ve been having fun lately with Fury Warrior so far this xpac. It’s very fast pace and self healing/survivability is good. There is literally no point where I am not hitting a button at the end of every global. I’m hitting evert hinges as it comes off cool down or procs and filling in with whirlwinds.

It feels a lot like what Marksman Hunter felt in legion just without aimed shot. I hate MM now feels so disjointed to play. BM is better, but it’s slow.

Yeah MM isn’t fast at all unfortunately. I play it a bit still but only when I want to feel like a “plant your feet and cast greater pyroblast” kind of caster. I main Survival and enjoy it outside of the min/max for mongoose bite can get dumb sometimes. I haven’t tried BM in BfA but I didn’t really enjoy it last expansion so.

ug. easier to say i only dont play Monk. or Pandas. or anything to do with MOP.
I think monk just because its attached to mOP. i mained a Monk in D3 for like 3 years though.

I love my shadow priest, and not matter what blizzard does to shadow, I will not give up on the spec. What I like most about the spec is the challenge. Not only do you have to get the rotation down, if you don’t have the proper stats, you will struggle. However, when you get both down, voidform is a fun challenge (it was really fun at the end of Legion before they destroyed it :frowning: )
In BfA, I have to manage when I go into voidform more closely, and that can hurt my dps, but I enjoy figuring out what I need to do to make it work for me. One thing that I do like in BfA is that they added some aoe talents that can really make shadow jump up the charts, even to the point of pulling aggro off the tank (they don’t appreciate it). However, it does get old having to change talents between bosses and if you forget, your dps will suck.

Warlock.

I love the theme of always gathering more knowledge and power while having control over your enemies in the form of summoned demons.

The spells are slower but impactful. Sowing deadly curses and diseases that rot the enemy from the inside, throwing endless waves of demons as commander of my own small army, or lobbing missiles of chaos to burn everything before me.

Storywise I enjoy them more right now as they are castaways from the norm of society so can more easily be separate entities from this faction war. If I dont like the story I can easily view it as being there for personal gain over faction loyalty.

Fury warrior: BUTTON SMASH, FAST PACED, NO TIME TO REST, EAT MY RAMPAGE.

Prot warrior: although it is not the best tank it is an interesting spec, I like the avatar + thunderclap + DS combo, but it lacks damage outside of CDs and has horrible rage problems.

Affliction warlock: I like specs that have to maintain DoTs, decent ST but lacks AoE.

Bear druid: easy to use, lots of CDs to mitigate damage, highest (?) HP, decent selfheal skills, very versatile, but lacks damage.

If it ain’t Dwarf, I generally don’t play it.
