Beavertin - Disconnection Issues

Hi Skelgarer,

I’ve been having the same problem with dcs lately. It started happening right after the latest patch a couple weeks back. It only happens in Boralus or Stormwind, so highly populated areas. I ran the WinMTR: Can you see anything?

Hey, Beavertin! It looks like this was moved to a new thread so we could look into this issue individually. Thank you for including the WinMTR test! Reviewing the test, the home network is the main concern here.

There’s a consistent 1% loss and the average 13ms latency is a bit higher than we’d like to see for both wired and wireless connections, along with the worst latency being up to 315ms.

If you are wireless, it may help to try a wired connection, switching between 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz if dualband is supported, or getting closer to the router/modem. If this is happening on a wired connection and there’s two separate home network devices, directly connecting to the modem may help isolate the problem. If the problem continues, you’ll want to contact the ISP to check out the WinMTR test to see what’s going on at and around the home network.

Thanks Caterpepi,

Today my 5 year old wired modem basically died and I bought a new one. It would go from 140 Mbps down to 6. I’d reset it and same thing. So far the new one is working fine.

Thank you for checking the numbers and it was definitely on my end.

That would make sense with what was showing on the test. Sorry to hear about the modem dying, but happy to hear that the new one seems to be stable so far, Beavertin

If the problem seems to come back, please let us know and if you could include a new WinMTR test to check out the new modem, we’d be happy to take a look!
