Beating a dead horse... (heh)

I know I’m late to the game on this, but…

Hey, just wanted to talk about the decision to use those undead steeds from Shadowlands instead of the Four Horsemen mounts for Death Knights.

It kinda feels off that we got a bunch of generic undead mounts in Shadowlands, which weren’t DK-specific, instead of using the Four Horsemen mounts we helped create in Legion. Those mounts and the special armor colors had a real connection to the Death Knight class and the lore. It also made the “four horsemen” feel more complete and like a cohesive unit we commanded. Using them would’ve made so much more sense for immersion.

By bringing in these other undead mounts that anyone can get, it kinda waters down the unique vibe of being a Death Knight. Our connection to our undead steed is a big part of the class fantasy, and missing out on the Four Horsemen mounts feels like a missed opportunity to really lean into that.

I think it would’ve been way more immersive and rewarding to have those Horsemen mounts as our signature rides. It’d definitely make us feel more connected to the class and the Ebon Blade.

Just some thoughts on how the current choices might be affecting the DK experience.

It would have been far better to keep the legion mounts. I do like the maw horses but they are not a patch on the original ones.
