Beast mastery question

Okay, so my game is in french, so I am translating the terms, so please don’t give me a hard time if i am using the wrong term.
at level 15 of beast mastery, you can choose a specialization that makes your second pet appear along with your first.

When I go to the stable master, there are 3 active slots for my pets and two locked ones. Also there are 20 slots in the stable.

So I have 5 pets. 1,2,3 are in the active slots and 4 and 5 are in the stable. Yet when I summon pet 1, pet 4 shows up along with it. When I switch around the pets and now say pet 3 is in the top slot, 2 in the second and 1 in the third slot and 4 and 5 in the stable still. I summon my pet and pet 3 shows up and still pet 4 along with it.

is this a bug?
shouldn’t it be my first and second pet that appear? And how can a stabled pet appear?

Also, will I eventually have all three active pets appear?

Thanks

animal companion uses the first pet in the stable as your 2nd pet

To clarify the above post, when you talk to a stable master you are looking for the top left slot on the first stable page. This is the preferred animal companion slot.

Yes, before you put anything in the stable, something comes out for most pets when you unlock animal companion. I did some testing but I couldn’t quite figure out the format.

There is no way at the moment to have three pets out permanently.

okay thanks.
so if i want say my raptor and my bird of prey I would do
active slots:
raptor
empty
empty
locked
locked

stable:
bird of prey + all other pets.

right?

Any pet that you may want summoned as your primary pet you can put in your active slots. Whatever pet you want to be your second pet from animal companion, simply put them in the first slot of the stable.

From your active slots, you can summon any of those pets at any time, and the second pet will remain whatever pet is in the first slot of your stable.

Pretty much was Targ said. You can switch your main pet whenever you want depending on the scenario (Hyena, Raptor, Rodent for pvp / Lust ferocity pet for pve etc.), and special abilities are tied to it. The 2nd pet is just an aesthetic choice and will replicate whatever the first one does. It will remain the 1st one in your stable slot no matter what.

If you have any questions about hunters I can add you in-game, since it appears you are new to WoW
I was about to leave a reply in french but I don’t wanna get banned after all lol.

Thanks all.
I really appreciate the support.
