I was trying to get my big heavy pet as my main for lust, then a cat come up as second. Animal Companion says it pulls the first pet in your stable. I changed the order in my stable in the bar of 5 to the left several times and it always pulled the exact same 2 when I selected Faultline. The only way to get the correct 2 was banking all my pets except the 2 I main. Is that what you’re supposed to do or am I screwing up somehow?
I play MM, so things will be different, but when I call up a pet, a list of pets appears, and I make my selection from the list, and that is the pet that appears.
Whether my stable is full or mostly empty, doesn’t seem to affect the outcome of my selection.
The bar is the active pets you can call.
Animal Companion draws the first pet in the stable (not from the bar).
So put your cat there.
That’s what I’m saying. I’m sitting beside the Stable Master changing the order over and over and it never works.
Youre not understanding, read carefully: Theres the 5 active pets that go on your bar, then theres 20 pages of pets you can have AT THE STABLE. When you go to a stable master the pet bar pets are on the left in a collumn, the stable that houses all your excess pets is ON THE RIGHT in 2 rows, the very first pet on page 1 of your stable (right side) is the second pet that is summoned with animal companion. So summoning ANY of the 5 pets in you pet bar will summon that pet and the one from your stable. Does this help?
edit: I think you are not understanding that you actually click the stable master to talk to him and ask to stable your pets, then a box ui opens up, and looks like I described earlier. You dont just STAND beside the stable master, you talk to him.
If you check the image below, I hope it explains which is what:
Top left arrow:
Points towards the active pet slots which you can have a total of 5 of when you’re at level 48 and above. Each slot is unlocked at a different level. These active pets, you can call from wherever you are in the world via the Call Pet ability drop menu in your spellbook.
Middle arrow:
Points towards the slot that is intended for the Animal Companion(2nd pet, if you have that talent selected). Note: see below regarding stabled pets and pages.
Bottom arrow:
Points towards the grid that displays all your stabled/inactive pets. You can see which page that is shown. In that grid, when you are on the first page, you want to place the pet you want as your animal companion in the top left slot, as shown by the arrow in the image.
