- These suggestions involve gameplay and talent trees, not visuals or tuning
- These suggestions do not consider revised talent tree layouts if these suggestions were implemented
- Please note that these suggestions apply to Beast Mastery. While there is spillover, it does not specifically address the Marksmanship or Survival specs, nor does it include the Sentinel Hero tree.
A. General Hunter Suggestion - make Multi-shot baseline. This is the basic AOE skill for hunters and should not be a talent. For Beast Mastery, we already have Beast Cleave and other talents to add to the use of this skill. Developers can feel free to add talents to the tree to modify Multi-shot, but the skill in its base form does not belong as a talent to use a point on.
B. Hunter Class Tree Specific Suggested Changes
- Scare Beast now branches from Wilderness Medicine
- Improved Tranquilizing Shot now branches from Tranquilizing Shot - where Scare Beast is now
- Beast Master is now connected to Intimidation/High Explosive Trap
- Trailblazer and Posthaste are both reduced to 1-point talents
- *NEW TALENT & NODE - connected to Concussive Shot (talent name TBD):
(a) Target(s) with Concussive Shot deal 5% less damage
(b) If Target has Hunter’s Mark it deals 10% less damage - Stampede and Death Chakram are now separate nodes
- Death Chakram now deals Shadow damage
- Improved Kill Command, Serrated Shots, and Arctic Bola are now 1-pt nodes
C. Hunter Beast Mastery Spec Tree Suggested Changes
Please note, the general purpose of adding shadow damage is to align Beast Mastery better with the Dark Ranger Hero tree.
- *NEW TALENT & NODE - Shadow Mastery: Dire Beast is now a Shadow Beast and deals Shadow damage. When active, it empowers Kill Command to deal Shadow damage instead of physical. All talents relating to Dire Beast are now connected to Shadow Beast.
- A Murder of Crows now deals Shadow damage
- Killer Cobra is removed and Cobra Senses now reduces the Kill Command CD by 2 seconds
- Beast Cleave, Killer Command, and Sharp Barbs are now 1-point talents
- *NEW TALENT & NODE: Loyal Friend(s)
(a) Your pet (or pets w/Pack Leader) sacrifices itself when you would take fatal damage and absorbs the incoming damage.
(b) This effect can only occur once every 15 minutes, but every Call of the Wild reduces this CD by 3 minutes (so basically it can be used once every 6 minutes if Call of the Wild is used 3 times whenever it is available - and this does align with other talents like Cauterize for Fire Mages, which is a 5 minute CD).
D. Dark Ranger Hero Tree Suggested Changes
- In general, the added Shadow damage generated from other suggestions will also improve the performance of this tree.
- Withering Arrow (New Talent) replaces Withering Fire (Capstone talent)
(a) Wailing Arrow applies Black Arrow to up to 5 Secondary targets
(b) Black Arrow deals 10% reduced damage to Secondary targets per Secondary target hit
E. Pack Leader Hero Tree Suggested Changes
- Animal Companion is removed from the Beast Mastery tree and is now the Keystone for this Pack Leader tree. Both the Beast Mastery and Survival specs will have 2 pets rather than 1
- Vicious Hunt and beast of Opportunity are removed
- Pack Assault (the Capstone) is revised - it now removes the Animal Companion damage penalty for both pets
a) For Beast Mastery: This applies during Call of the Wild
b) For Survival: This applies during Coordinated Assault - Pack Coordination is now revised: Both pets have a chance to critical strike and when one does they both do at the same time (this could probably be phrased better)
- New Choice talent with Furious Assault: Vicious Tear: Furious Tear has an additional 10% chance to trigger (tuning can adjust this amount)
