I have two Hunters, one Void Elf and one Nightborne. My Nightborne Hunter I played Beast Master the whole time before BFA came out. Had Hati during Legion and after BFA came out another pet that was in my stables would come out as my second pet. My Void Elf I used for Dungeons and Raids, so spent most the time as Marksman. Got the Beast Master weapon in Legion and used it a few times but do not recall Hati coming out (did not think too much about it at the time cause I mostly did Marksman). Now after BFA came out I was having some trouble doing quests so decided to go BM on my Void Elf but no second pet comes out. That is when I realized that there was something wrong. Anyone else have this issue? Where and how would I report this?
I’m confused why you’re talking about two characters. Does the issue happen on both of them? If not, then it’s better to not even mention the Nightborne hunter.
Anyway, if a second pet doesn’t appear when using Animal Companion talent that means that your first stable slot is empty. The talent brings specifically the first pet on your stable, not on your active list of pets. Your stable is probably empty, which wouldn’t be that surprising if you’re used to playing MM with Lone Wolf and haven’t been taming lots of pets.
Find a stable npc and check pets. Whatever pet you have on page 1 in the upper left corner is your AC. If nothing is there, nothing extra will be summoned. It doesn’t matter what kind of pet you have there, it just lends itself appearance to the AC (no special abilities).
When you call a pet or revive it or do anything that makes you go from a “no pet” state to “there’s my pet”, you’ll get your regular pet first and a few seconds later the AC will appear. If you do something like mounting and flying that makes your regular pet despawn, your ac will also despawn instantly.
Does your Void Elf have the Animal Companion talent?
